very late to the party with yunhee and cai but i don’t really have plots for them for the event, so if anyone has plots available that they can see either one of them doing, please like this post and i’ll message you.
i’ve just been very busy this week as i volunteered earlier in the year to organize my church’s xmas party/christmas carols event which is on this weekend. and no, i am not singing as i tend to sound like a dying cat.

zhou cai’s favorite impulse title tracks with explanations of his feelings of the songs, predominately with how instead of most songs the lyrics mean a significant other, he interprets the songs to impulse and inpulse.
words: 1,012
miracle - though it’s more in line of being classed as a christmas song, cai associates the lyrics with the members of impulse. ‘walk this path with me, stay to the end with me’. he truly feels like the lyrics emphasize how he felt after missing out on debuting the first time, however the lyrics connect him with his feelings towards the members with how they seem to have been the light to stop him from giving up from trying to be an idol.
lullaby - the sound of the song is so satisfying to cai, he can’t fully explain it. both in english and korean, he finds beauty in the words. it would be a song he’d love to sing to a significant other. the song was magnetic to him, he still loved performing it. though he felt like he didn’t have much in the song, the lyrics are his favorite out of the title tracks.
just right - cai really loves this song, he always thought it was a great message for their fans, and though he doesn’t really like doing cute things, this is the only time he will happily do it. he believes it was a great choice to show off impulse’s dorky side. the lyrics reminded cai of his first crush (a girl called lu jia) before he came to korea, she often was critical with her looks, however cai was too shy to tell her how beautiful she was in his eyes. he still somewhat thought about what she’d say if he told her. so for him, the song was like like a dedication to her for not telling her his past feelings.
if you do - he was surprised when he and the members got the song, it was darker than all of their previous songs, and it described a toxic relationship. he had been lucky to not have been in a situation like the lyrics spoke, however the words have always stuck with him as being so different even musically wise which cai found he liked the musical path impulse took after this song... excluding never ever and hard carry.
girls girls girls - though now it’s not entirely his favorite song, cai still holds it dear to him as it was the song impulse debuted with. it is still somewhat cringy with the choreography he had to do though.... for a time he kept asking the choreographers to have no. the lyrics do also make him feel a little iffy now that he’s older, but back the he truly felt in line with the lyrics. it it nostalgic to cai, reminding of the struggles before the happiness of first performing on stage with his members.
you calling my name - to cai it was the most laid back impulse promoted, but he really enjoyed the style. he had made a mistake in the past love life which is why he connected so well with the lyrics. he truly wished sometimes he got back together with them, to ask them for a second chance, but being an idol made him hard to see them, and cai wished he could have had more time to spend with them.
you are - from dark days to feeling liberated is how he sees the members. yes, they are not as popular as other groups, but cai loves his brothers for how much they have achieved together and how they have supported each other from their trainee days. the song he also feels is towards the positivity the fans have given the group since debut. when he performs, cai is always still amazed of how many fans come out to see impulse perform.
eclipse - literally the reenactment of his emotions after losing in who’s next: origin story. he stumbled and nearly gave up. if it wasn’t for the members who stood by his side, he’d had given up his dreams. he holds this song dear to his heart.
fly - cai also associates this song to inpulses. to him, it was like the shared dreams that impulse and inpulse wanted to achieve and that they will try with all perseverance and determination to do so with the ones they hold dear to them.
a - okay, it was cheesy lyrics but the song reminded him of his teenage years back in beijing. he was kind cocky when a girl had a crush on him but was completely awkward when it came to crushing on someone. it makes him think how much he has grown since those days.
look - cai actually liked the lyrics of this song, but how it came to musically made him feel a little disappointed. he still enjoyed the song as he felt proud of the lyrics even though he didn’t write them, he felt like it described how the fans cherished impulse, and that’s why he like the lyrics so much.
hard carry - lyrically this song did not make any sense to cai. the only thing he saw that it was a challenge for him, with the choreography being quite difficult. he just didn’t understand when they had lyrics that were good previously (like just right, fly and if you do) cai found it strange that they went back to a bad second version of their debut song (which he would compare to.)
never ever - normally never ever would had been his cup of tea, but for some reason he didn’t enjoy the song as much. to cai it was lackluster, it done better it could have been a hit in his eyes. to most of the songs, he didn’t connect with the song musically or lyrically.
stop stop it - he’ll be honest, everything about this promotion was horrible, he somewhat feels traumatized from the almost white blond hair he gave himself to the auto-tune of the whole song. it had always irritated him. the lyrics were so cheesy for him back then an even now, cai freely admits it that it was the worst song the group promoted.

she’s running errands like the collared lackey she is, smile on full blast and her mind disturbingly empty. her manager had told her it was for a good cause and jiae had snapped back about bullshit so hard she was left alone to meander winding hallways crowded with too many people and reeked of hair spray, body on autopilot and her hands ghosting almost instinctively to her stomach (that’s what she gets for being stubborn. no food for her for being a drama queen. go figure) as she bows at every person she passes - good job, sunbae; you did well today: a whole rinse-wash-repeat of rehearsed lines she has to wring from her mouth. sparkling eyes and demure posture and all. hurried feet leads her to round a corner too quickly, almost stumbling out of shock when a voice reels her back in. fuck.
with a smile plastered on her face, jiae pivots on her heels but the second her eyes zeroes in on the bag of food in his hand, she stills. then, glides to him like a cat on the prowl. “hungry,” it’s a barely disguised whine, her hands coming up palm to palm in mock prayer. “please tell me that’s for me.”
cai immediately beamed when he realized it was his close friend. though impulse debuted before WISH, jade was probably the only one who never called him ‘sunbae’ outside of cameras, which he was kinda thankful for. jade did remind him of some of his own members who’d drag him out of his place to hang out, however cai always had a great time whenever he was dragged out by this girl. he still remembered the first time they hung out for barbecue and she shocked him with her ravenous appetite.
hearing the whine, the male couldn’t stop himself letting out a snort of amusement. “this one was just for me, but i’ll always share with you.... otherwise you’ll bit my arm off.” he teased. “and be glad it’s not my attempts at cooking, but from a restaurant.”

cai was drunk, and somehow got separated from his friends. for the life of him he found heaven... a dog cafe that was still open. he had two cats at home who he loved dearly, yet when drunk he becomes obsessed with dogs and several times he has been hauled by friends to not dog-nap.
smiling brightly as he accepted the hot chocolate he ordered, he took a picture and scrolled through people on his message list before choosing randomly to text them the picture.

so somehow i’ve gotten sick, no idea how or why but i look like and sound like crap. like woke up this morning and my face is slightly looking like a pufferfish, my throat raw but no cough but my voice sounds like the lead singer from Aerosmith (i kinda sound close to Rebel Wilson normally.)
i’ll do replies tomorrow and write up some starters (crappy in comparison to all you lovely people, you all write so good!) so if anyone wants one please like.

self para: the thought of disappointment echoes in cai’s heart after team b loses the chance to debut. should he quit trying to make it into the entertainment industry? this is already the second time he has failed....
notes: TW depression (non suicidal). more the thoughts about giving up dreams and thoughts of worthlessness. some song lyrics are featured
dreams... gone, disappeared into the black cloud of space. confetti had filled the stage but the tear of emptiness drifted down cai’s face.
my mind is running empty
why was he never good enough? first he failed to land an acting job, even as an extra in dramas and movies to no avail back home... and then he had leapt at the chance when he was asked to become a trainee, hoping that he would finally get to shine. but all he got was the dark abyss consuming him.... consuming his dreams....
now it’s all just static in my head
what would the eyes of his parents’ read: disappointment? regret that they agreed for him to try this? he should have just stayed home and try doing something else. he had been lucky to have parents who didn’t care what their son wanted to do for his future; as long as he was happy and proud of it. yet it kept feeling like all the money they had spent on him to go to performing arts school, music and dance lessons that cai had asked because it was the thing that made him happy - just wasted on his failings.
the echoes of his footsteps as he left the stage sounded like a whisper as cai walked in a daze. how could he come out on top? he was not good enough, just a boy in a different country who only dared to dream... without success.
now i’m stuck out here and the world forgot
it was as if death greeted his dreams of music and performance ever since he tried to become an idol.he could still remember the numerous phone calls and meetings with the old chinese company “oh you just weren’t suiting the director’s style.” always the same feeling of ‘you’re not good enough’. was there any point anymore? despite his happiness with his skills at singing, rapping and dance- there were always others who were better.
let’s abort this mission n-
a hand gently clasped his shoulder, waking cai from his thoughts. as he turned around he met the eyes of the same heartbreak and disappointment from his team.... but it wasn’t aimed at him but at themselves. and there was another image displayed in all of their eyes... ‘we will make it soon, i’ll make sure of it.’ though his face could not smile, there was now a light shining through the dark abyss, a rocket stopping to pick him up in the vast emptiness of space.
he wasn’t alone.

Cai had just entered the building to support his members who had started promotions for their sub-unit during the music show. He was happy and proud for the two of them, and Cai knew how hard they worked to be there. With tteokbokki in his hand and some cola, he headed towards the waiting rooms. A head of him he spotted a familiar face getting closer towards him. “Hey....how are you?” gosh.... Cai you sound so awkward - he thought to himself.

“my grandmother taught me how to make these last time i visited her,” joohwan explained as he checked the oven once more to check on the empanadas. “i had had them before but i didn’t know they were this easy to make, honestly. i doubt it’d be interesting for a menu in the complex but i can’t be assed to do anything else.” really, joohwan wasn’t even planning on doing anything at all. his manager had insisted he took some time to do it if only because the fans would suck it up whether whatever he made ended up in the final menu or not. hwan barely had time to think and the man was exhausted on his feet but still he was cooking. spoke a lot about the shit he was willing to do to make his manager happy. (anything, really, to compensate for his behavior at the start of the year. “i doubt these are as good as hers but i tried.”
being careful not to burn himself, hwan removed the tray from the oven and put it on top of the counter. “just wait for it to cool a little bit and you can try it out,” he removed the mittens and reached for his glass of coke, deeply wishing it was a beer instead. “it has meat in it so i can’t eat it hence me calling you over to try it out.”
“honestly I think you’re pretty lucky to have learned something like this.” cai smiled rightly at the other, sitting down. “hey, at least you weren’t told by your fans to not try because of how bad i am at cooking. But i think it was out of concern of me possibly killing the other members by food poisoning.” he said with a chuckle. no matter how hard he tried, cai could never cook anything - heck he even somehow got cupcakes to be on fire in the oven once and his own mother banned him from the kitchen. “you’re still better than me, hyung.”
cai smiled as the smell drifted into his nose, it truly smelled good. “will do hyung.” he thought back to the days when they were both trainees, oh how time flew by. “well it’s a good thing i accidentally missed breakfast.”
