some Ancient designs for if ancients were more like what i thought they would be like when gaolers first came out (prototype modern breeds)

Appreciation post for the seasonal scenes on FlightRising dot Com because they are just genuinely some incredibly beautiful artwork

Also ancients are hoarding some very nice non-line-breaking terts (darts/weathered/topcoat/etc) which is just rude lol. We did get polka dot and wish ported to moderns so those are maybe just a matter of time (ancients are the “get it a year early” exclusive subscriber content). But still it’s very rude please share with the class

i think my biggest problem with the concept of ancients isn't even that they can't wear clothes... i understand the whole logistical problem that is solving. a necessary sacrifice. it's jsut that i SIMPLY do not agree that moderns "couldn't" have linebreaking terts. i just dont agree that it's a problem that it would clip with apparel like, fundamentally. we're already dealing with shirts that clip through entire wings as a necessary and long-standing suspension of disbelief, i think it'll be ok if some fans stick out of a hat or whatever. if they are saying that they have to be unique to ancients in order to make ancients more special to make up for their lack of apparel well i dont like that!! anyway obviously they can do whatever they want on their website and some day they might give moderns (another) line-breaking tert (spines/gembond/sparkle...), it's rly not impossible, i think this ire is mostly directed at all the comments PLAYERS make towards others about how it could NEVER HAPPEN!!! because of CLIPPING!! i think we'll get past that some day. hopefully

lol it has been several hours since i finished these guys and i was regretting not pushing them even farther but actually they're even more different than i remember. i forgot how small their actual wing claws are. i also gave them little ear holes because where are their little ear holes! a time honored FR tradition!!

ok so this started because, the thing about dusthides is that they have a very cool thing going on with their wing, where the secondary is only visible on the underside of the wing and not the top. unfortunately, only one pose (F) shows this off at all, so I wondered if the M pose could be altered to show the back wing to emphasize that trait. and also i thought it would be cool if the secondary was also on the underside of the plating, which i then had to add more of, and then also i had to draw the F pose to see if i could reposition the tail to show off THAT attribute. and then since i was drawing them ANYWAY i just redesigned some other things. for fun. i dont think i did it super great but it was a fun exercise!!

does anyone know which artist drew Aberrations? it's hard to keep track but i think that Aethers and Gaolers were Osiem, and the rest are by Undel? but I'm not sure about Aberrations

With this release, we will also sadly announce that this will be the final volume we will be working on. The two mods on this now have full time jobs and we couldn't give our full focus on this fun project. i actually always kinda liked that about them. they're unkempt and yucky. they've been living in the dark like feral cave beasts for ages. they're probably really stinky.

gaolers have kinda grown on me. after existing for like half a decade. but i feel like somebody needs to file down their claws, they look like theyre overgrowing! too curved! like a bird with bad perches. hate that one tert that makes it even worse lol how do they walk!!!!!
