Art work: digital art

I decided to use some of my work I have done this semester as well as a picture of my favorite art painting I did that I call love I that represent the love. I have for my girlfriend and the distance in our relationship hope you enjoy here is the process. I used the colors of the painting with Digital color as well as pictures of work I have done this semester. 

WRITING, THINKING AND LOOKING CRITICALLY

After seeing Jackson Pollock work after seeing it, if I can be honest I didn’t really understand it or get it. It just looked like a lot of colors just put together that really in my opinion don’t make sense. I don’t really see a meaning at first. After looking at some of his work I start to think if he knows what he is trying to paint then I see more clearly that he is showing us that art can be anything it doesn’t need to have an image it can just be color. It can just be lines of color, it can make us wonder what the meaning is, it makes us start to believe that we can do art that art has a bigger deeper meaning. His work is very unique and one can say that anyone can do it but in reality only one man can and that is Pollock. He is the only one who can make us think about the deeper meaning in art, not the painting itself but the work of colors and the work that art can be anything we want it to be. Art doesn’t need an image.

ART PROJECT – Create an ORIGINAL abstract, non-representational

In my work of art I have chosen a non-representational work of art. The work of art I made has a very special meaning to me of someone who is very important to me. It is about the love I have for my girlfriend Amani and the A and F that represent us and the word Love I from the band The green. That represents the song we always play when I leave back home. My girlfriend Amani lives in Las Vegas. I go to visit once a month, the colors I have chosen are dark blue, a little red and the favorite colors of Amani purple and yellow that represent her sports car colors. The 3 hearts represent the growth of our love from us 2 meeting the A & F to a medium size heart to the big and amazing love we have for each other still being 3,000 miles away.

I have chosen the work of artists Gaudenzio Ferrari and his work of Holy Family with Donor. This Piece of work is made of oil and wood it is late to the 1520s its dimensions are made of 73 1/2 × 57 7/8 × 3 3/4 in. (186.7 × 147 × 9.5 cm) Frame. The colors on the painting are amazing. I have been to the Ringling Museum many times. This painting has always caught my eye at first. It is definitely the colors it reflects. After analyzing it more clearly I have noticed the colors are as important as the meaning of the painting. The colors are set to a darker tone in the back with a light blue sky but very bright colors in the front we get a great color of skin colors. To the clothing we get a bright reddish that can almost be a light pink in my opinion as well as a dark light blue mix with green as well as a light orange that could be a lighter red as well. We also get a very dark green and brown. The use of color is really amazing in my opinion as it is a great mix of everything that is set just right. The shapes I would say are more useful if humans shape people. What this painting makes me feel is the love of a mother holding their first child, her first newborn, a moment that you only get to experience once. What it makes me feel as well is the care that a mother has to struggle just to finally hold her kid for the first time. I feel the love that I was raised from from the story’s I was told since I was a child about the holy family. This feeling comes from my mother from my young age of always knowing the stories from my grandfather. You can really understand what the artist was raised by also knowing about the family values as well as the value of a mother and the people that care around you. In conclusion, I really enjoy the work by Gaudenzio Ferrari. There are many paintings at Ringling about the holy family but this one is definitely the one that brings the feelings of life and love.

JOURNALING: principles of design

Variety of colors when I think of different shapes and different kinds of people. If we were all the same I feel that in the format of art we would not have colors. We would probably only see black and white we see variety all around us from people from the cars we drive to the way we talk.

Balance when it comes to balance the first thing that comes into my head don’t lose your balance don’t fall! We use balance every min of our life without it we would probably fall. When it comes to art, Balance is the Art that refers to the use of artistic elements such as line, texture, color, and form in the creation of artworks in a way that renders visual stability.

Subordinated is the technique artists use to emphasize certain elements in a work of art to make certain the main subject stands out. Like ourselves using something like a big chain to stand out making it the main subject of our look !

Emphasis is something that we hopefully try to use everyday in our life to give special attention to the things that matter in art. Emphasis is the principle of art that helps the audience put the story of a painting together in their own minds.

Directional force is used as Directional movement is any visual movement in an artwork created by a line or by the alignment of shapes or color or value contrast. To influence the way we look at a work of art.

Rhythm I feel we use rhythm to dance to move to enjoy our life’s and without it I don’t believe we would have fun as we do. We need rhythm in our life’s. In art Rhythm is usually achieved through repetition of lines, shapes, colors, and more.

WRITING AND LOOKING

For me Henri Matisse's work is something that looks familiar but different at the sametime. The line work is perfect but curves to give the women the curves it naturally has. Adding the details in the back makes the Emphasis on the work up front that is the women. The color choice fits the art I believe if color was added I don’t believe it might have much balance.

CONNECTING ART TO YOUR WORLD

The way color affects us everyday is so important. Without it I don’t believe life would be as fun. I think with color we fall in love let tell you why! If I go on a date and the girl I am going out with uses my favorite color I am not just attracted to her but the color. When someone has rainbow colored hair like a lot do, guess what we turn the eye and look at that person. For me color matters the experience I have with it is I am the coach of a soccer team for over 15 years. The soccer team uses purple as the jersey color. I am not a fan of just a fall purple jersey so I decided that the players needed a change that came by changing the jerseys we change to black and gold all black with Vegas gold lines. The mentality of the players changed a lot. The fact that we had finally changed also changed the results in the fields. That is why color is so important to me.

ARTIST’S CHOICE

I chose to do a little artwork comic. I chose to draw Space pig vs snake Alien ! The story is of space pig saving his home planet from the evil Snake Alien who wins the battle?

How do you know about these logos? The reason I know about these logos is I see them everyday ! I love using my crocs as many do. I enjoy using my Under Armour Shoes to the gym to my Versace Belt I use to go out. To my Apple Iphone I use the Honda and BMW cars I drive.to the TV I use a Sony TV. Then to my Nike shoes and I always drive by my local 7 Eleven and Wawa. It has become more of what is normal now you really don’t think about how many logos you see a day and you use yourself is all around us !

How do you understand the value of logos? The value is so important that what we just see on Tv is such a strong market like I said earlier, we don't notice what we see everyday. The value of logos is to convince us to have it from the ones that look amazing to the ones that are the most expensive.

Part 1- WRITING AND RESEARCH –

HI my name is Flavio Laura. You can call me Flav. A little fact about me is that I had a proFessional wrestling match and I won ! I was assigned Ibrahim Mahama 2015 Post No Bill. Jute sacks. Here are some facts on Manama !

Mahama became the youngest artist to be featured in the Ghana Pavilion in 2019 Venice Biennale.

Mahama obtained his MFA in Painting and in Sculpture in the year 2013 then went on to get his BFA in Painting in 2010 at Kwame Nkruma.

He is married to Selassie Ibrahim who is a former minister of the National Democratic Congress and they have a son and daughter.

His work is more of materials to explore themes of commodity, migration, globalisation and economic exchange.

He was Born 1987 Tamale, Ghana he is 35 years old

When I first saw the artwork, my first impression was that it looks like trash put together with dirty rugs on the ground and on the walls that probably smells very bad. After looking into and the work and information that Mahama does I look at it very differently now I do see what he is going for as well as the meaning to his work. Understanding the art of it more, do I still see what I saw at the beginning part? I say yes I still in a way see trash but, I see a more meaningful background to it.

Part 2- ART AND WRITING

The image I have selected is of my nickname in the form of a panda. With pictures of me and my girlfriend. This picture hangs in my room right next to me on my wall so every time I wake up I see it. The reason I love it and the backstory to it. Amani, the name of my girlfriend, had drawn this at 3 am at her job. She sent me snaps while I was sleeping. I woke up and saw the snaps and I loved it. Then Amani gave it to me as a gift and she put it in a frame. That moment I knew we needed to add the polaroid pictures and we did. The reason I love the little art work is because it was done with a sticky paper note and somehow it still has colors to it from the black and white of the panda to the red of my name to something you can miss the bamboo on the side drawn in green.

Part-3 WRITING A SELF-PORTRAIT

Hello my name is Flavio Laura I am 25 years old and I am a male. I was born in Peru but live in Sarasota Florida. I am Hispanic what I do for fun is play soccer or go to wrestling school or the gym. I am not a member of any organization. I work for Booker high school as an ESE AIde. What makes me uniquely me is definitely helping others, always ready to help when needed.
