Hope everyone had a chance to #OptOutside and enjoy Mama Nature in all of her glory today!🏔 ✧ I expected to find the trail totally packed this morning, after all it’s Colorado and everyone loves to get outside, but instead I was surprised to find myself in solitude for over 2 hours before passing a couple of people on my way down. I’m not a fan of the cold, but I’ll admit that winter hiking definitely has its perks!🙌🏼 (at Colorado Springs, Colorado) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqiwdQjBI80/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1pjotrtrakeek

The only thing missing from this picture is a pumpkin spice latte💁🏻‍♀️🎃☕️ . Happy basic witch season y’all! Get out there and connect with nature, charge your crystals, pull some tarot cards, find a magical hot spring to soak in, and enjoy everything wonderful that October has to offer🍂✨🔮 (at Colorado) https://www.instagram.com/p/BoaB4NklmIH/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=14w73lshcudlf

Becket and I survived our first backpacking trip! • My feet are sore, my hips are bruised, and I lost a pair of aligns to a vicious rock, but I also got to see the Milky Way for the first time, spend quality time with B before going on my first trip without him (😿), and explore another new part of Colorado, so it’s safe to say more nights in the backcountry are definitely in my future!✨🏔 (at Holy Cross Wilderness) https://www.instagram.com/p/BmZhHX-FKA6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=14euq4xqf4grq

Even though there’s still technically a week left of summer, fall has officially hit Colorado full swing and I am on the prowl for some foliage this weekend🍂 . I think I have a pretty good spot picked out, but if you have any good leads close to the Front Range feel free to let me know!😏💛 (at Rocky Mountain National Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/BntV5lilDTZ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1gk0gvqs3nwe4

My first trip to the Grand Canyon was on New Year’s Eve in 2016. It was the first time I truly felt like I was being called to travel somewhere, so a week before I checked online to see if there were any rooms still available in the park and lo and behold there was 1 room left at the Maswik Lodge for a great price, so I immediately booked it. _ It was my first proper solo trip and while I was excited to see one of the natural wonders of the world, I experienced a ton of fear during the days leading up to the trip. _ What if people thought I was weird for visiting a National Park alone during a major holiday? What if my car broke down during the drive? What if someone with malevolent intent saw I was a young woman traveling along and decided to harm me? What if...? _ But I knew I had to go. _ Partly because I was doing work at the time that concerned the air quality there and I felt like I needed to personally assess the situation, but also because I felt like I was searching for something. And it wasn’t until this trip that I realized what I found. _ I overcame feelings of loneliness, bad weather, and running out of gas in quite literally the middle of nowhere without stressing out. I got to watch the first sunrise of 2017 at one of the most magnificent places in the world without another soul in sight. I fell in love with the desert and how connected to the Earth I feel there. I discovered a newfound sense of adventure and confidence, which have helped me grow tremendously. _ If your intuition is calling you to do something, listen. There’s a reason your soul craves certain experiences. It may not be obvious or some grand, earth-shattering revelation, but when you answer that call you’re guaranteed to discover something about yourself along the way.✨ (at Grand Canyon National Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bnqx45GhYlo/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=kpob3mpkejuo

Transformation can be incredibly beautiful, but at times the journey towards personal growth & self-discovery will also be messy and onerous and painful to trek. _ Sure it’s exciting discovering your strengths, passions, and purpose on this planet, but stepping into your light requires digging deep into your shadow in order to unearth the shame, guilt, rage, and other less-than-pretty traits that reside there. _ It requires looking at your past mistakes, taking personal responsibility for your actions, and acting differently in the future. _ It requires recognizing toxic patterns and doing the work to create new habits & ways of thinking to heal old wounds and change them. _ It requires forgiving those who have trespassed against you. Words I recited hundreds if not thousands of times in church growing up, but have just only recently realized the significance of. _ It requires shedding the layers of yourself that no longer serve you in order to grow into the person you were meant to become; much like these aspens whose leaves will soon fall to give life to the soil and make room for newness to bloom next year. _ Yes, the personal development journey is a challenge to be sure, but when you finally begin to catch a glimpse of the transformation unfolding within, I promise it will be worth it.✨🍂 (at Rocky Mountains) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn2NTNPlQk8/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=8vld71iurwkk
