I learned about most things from my Aunt Lucy. She taught me how to spell my name: W-I-L-L-O-W-D-E-A-N. Willowdean. She also taught me how to like a name like that. My mom being a bit of a celebrity around here just meant she was too busy for me. So my Aunt Lucy was the one who taught me how to say, “yes, ma’am” and “no, sir,” how to look people in the eye, and how to find a keeper in a heap of junk. But most of all, my Aunt Lucy taught me about Dolly Parton.

All I can say for sure about this movie is that I’m enjoying it, and I like thinking about the circumstances that lead to the development of this game at the local level and then the level seen in The City

I’m watching The Blood of Heroes (1989) and it’s an Australian post-apocalyptic film with some Mad Max vibes. Far as I can tell our characters play something sort of similar to football, but using chains to whip opponents is fair game, time is kept by throwing stones at a screen?, and the ball is a dog’s skull. Our main character might actually be named Dog Boy. I have no idea what this movie is actually about yet

I’ve decided I won’t be finishing this season of Slasher.
I’m really not a fan of the Islamophobia in episode 1 of season 3 of Slasher holy shit. I already found the amount of rape scenes in season 2 in poor taste (imo rape scenes are rarely “necessary”). I know the show’s MO so far is to prove every character is an awful person, especially if they’re a character who gets killed and/or is treated as a suspect, but it sometimes feels over-the-top and unnecessary. I’ve already said before, but beyond the gore normally associated with the genre, take care of yourself and check content guides- again, I’m a fan of the IMDB’s parental content advisory guides- for each episode.

Not a fan of a gay character getting beat by other guys in a locker room until his back is bleeding in season 3 episode 2 either!

Normally before I watch something, if I’m unsure about it, I check a parents content advisory guide, usually the one on IMDB. I find these much better than Does the Dog Die? and other lists like that.
I definitely recommend doing that for Slasher. I’m 1.5 seasons in and there have been several pretty bloody deaths (this is expected, but some have been over the top, there’s been damage to eyes, etc), self-harm scars and implied self-harm, a rape scene (not visually seen, but you can hear the female character protest), several sex scenes (pretty mild, in my opinion), and cannibalism (it was unintentional if that matters).

I’m on episode 2 of season 2 and so far it seems to be about a group of people who used to all be counselors at the same summer camp who murdered another counselor 5 years ago. There are plans to turn the areas near where they hid the body into a resort, so they’re going back to their old stomping grounds to reconnect for a weekend (really, they’re trying to move the body before it’s found). But they can’t find the body and 2 murders, including someone in their group, have occurred since they’ve arrived
I’ve been watching the Netflix series “Slasher” and I definitely recommend it. Each season is a different storyline. I’m on the last episode of season 1, which is referred to as The Executioner about a woman who moves back into the house where her parents were murdered and how copy cat murders occur afterwards.
