I think the argument that taylor writes about fame “too much” is sort of an interesting one. In my opinion, the only reason she is able to is simply because she’s remained grounded and open enough to let herself feel the highs and lows. Or to be able to recognize right, wrong, and cruel. She’s able to be famous but still be normal. Obviously her “normal” doesn’t match someone not in entertainment, but the way she acts, treats others, and feels is very much so. It’s been seventeen years and there still has never been a bad word about how she’s treated someone. Her songs still feel as human as the rest of us. She’s remained who she is at her core despite all the things she’s gone through up until today. So, for me, I hope she keeps writing about fame. Because it means she’s still her. If she didn’t care and thought it was all normal and blocked all of the awful things out, it just wouldn’t be organic for who she is. Hope this makes sense 🫶

the "taylor will retire soon" crowd is so funny because these people don't listen to taylor at all. she needs songwriting to process her emotions and vent, it's not to clock in her hours at work. if anything, the last few years proves she's free creatively to make decisions and I don't see her stopping anytime soon when it's something she loves to do.
