desdemona doesn’t like getting her hands dirty. after all, her nails cost more than most people spend on groceries a week. why should she, when she has people that will do anything for her ? to the outside, theo is a cog in a machine, one that desdemona runs with such effiecency. but he has so much potential, and she is insistent on bringing it out. if anyone should find out that she intends to take theo’s father’s business out from under him, desdemona would have to shuffle and play her cards differently. ‘ well - ’ there’s a hand that moves to pull a glove off another. ‘ if a pretty boy wants me to hold his hand, who am i to say no ? ’
Working with Desdemona was a breath of fresh air compared to his father, not being forced to commit any acts of violence. There was always a certain element of danger, but he at least had the comfort of knowing it wasn’t necessary for him to take a life of another human being again.
Theo lets out a flustered breath from his lips as Desdemona actually accepts his offer. He was originally going to play it off as a joke if she refused, which he was fully prepared to do, his hand even began to lower an inch or two before she spoke. Making sure to wipe any sweat from his palm onto his coat, he carefully took her hand in his. “ Didn’t know you thought I was pretty. “ Theo laughs quietly as he escorts her down the stairs, his face turning a shade of red. “ So what do ya got for me today, boss? Besides all the much-appreciated compliments. “
