WEEK 14 part B.
Now that I have seen these two websites and was able to analyze them, I will be able to work on mine and know exactly what I want to do with it. I will make sure my website is balanced by making everything have its own even space. If a graph takes a little more space than a certain part of my website I will organize it so it can be good. I will use the same style and font to make sure the contrast is the right way as well as the consistency. I will make groups in the tittle page to make sure nothing is to messy in the first page. I will make sure my website is the best by applying all these factors as well as making sure the information presented is accurate and well developed.

Hey great job on explaining the process that you will follow to make sure your website is appropriate and full of good information for the viewer. Your point in making it comprehensive is something that most people miss. They will focus on making it look nice and flashy and forget about the most important point of all. I will take some of your advice in this assignment and follow some of the steps you are doing to make sure my website is good and informative to the audience.
#Week 14: Thinking About Your Website
Section A:
Questions for Analysis on website #1&2:
1. The balance of “Trendlines Research was not proportionate within the images and the text (there was one big picture on the left side and then text all around “Aaron Marquez’s” website which had an equal distribution (each page had an equal amount of photos and text–not having one overpower the other).
2. The contrasts with “Trendlines Rseearch” is consistent with the text and the headings (given the heading is bolded; not different). “Aaron Marquez’s” website has a different style text and heading for each section that he explains.
3. “Trendlines Research” consistency doesn’t change much throughout the web page (font size and style is alike). “Aaron Marquez’s” website is pretty consistent as well with text style and font size through each of his pages that he presents.
4. The alignment and grouping of “Trendlines Research” seems to be all over the place. (there is no sections or tabs–each piece of information is difficult to find). “Aaron Marquez’s” alignment and grouping goes vertically and has everything tabbed and easy to locate.
5. “Trendlines Research” webpage is not effective, information is not sectioned and the hard to understand compared to “Aaron Marquez’s” webpage which states who he is and exactly what he works on.
(RWS Handbook shows exactly what the website assignment should look like).
Section B:
1. To make sure my website is balanced, I’ll make sure to have a an equal amount of pictures and text. (making sure that there isn’t too much text compared to photos).
2. The way to use contrast in my website is to make sure that body text is different compared to the sub headings or headings. In order for the viewer, to differentiate between headings and actual body paragraphs.
3. The places where I will keep the consistency is when I discuss the major assignments, the about me page..etc. I will make sure that certain things go in certain places instead of not having a certain flow and making the viewer confused.
4. The way I will use grouping and alignment to make my website more effective, is to make sure that everything is organized and placed in the spot that it should be in.
5. The colors that I will use for my website will be black or blue fonts. As far as backgrounds go, I use either a black backdrop, or pictures of the things that I’m majoring in (Nursing).
6. Besides making sure that each aspects of the website goes in the designated area and making sure the backgrounds and font colors aren’t too flashy, and headings, sub headings are different from the body texts…I will make sure that it is comprehensible for the viewer to understand and that it becomes an interesting website.

WEEK 14 WEBSITES
For trend line research's website it was almost impossible to find the tittle if it wasn't for the tab that I had opened. This website is the closest you can get to messy. The balance is not the right one for presenting the information given. In the other hand Aaron's website is much more neater and you are able to choose where you want to go from the tittle.
The contrast is the opposite from both websites as well. The research website is horrible. The graph is all over the place and font and color as well. In the other hand Aaron's website has the same font and text size, as well as background color. The consistency for the research website is not consistent at all. As you guys could see information was spread out as if a little kid had thrown up in the table.
Aaron's website is organized and you are able to see where everything is aligned and grouped together. In the research website however, you can not click anywhere because of the tremendous mess and it would not lead you anywhere. There is hardly any links that you can spot.
The effectiveness of the sites are obvious. A website that is well organized and structured like Aarons will deliver the appropriate message to the audience. If you are like Mr. Trendy guy, you wont get too far concerning your message.

Hey there!
Great post, this was very beneficial for me and I am pretty sure it was for Natalie as well! It is important to understand and check were we stand and what we need to work on!
Team work will be our best friend and will get us through this assignment alive.
I agree that each of our interviews got us really good intel about our each section of the medical field.
Together as one we will get this assignment going !
#Week 13: Wrapping Up The Film-Creating a Plan of Action
A. What days and times will you commit to the project?
The days that I will commit to the project are when I am not in school and I have free time (either on my hour breaks between classes or when I’m off of school). I will be using my time wisely when it comes to this project, and I will not waste anytime. I will dedicate my time to do my part as best as I can.
B. What days/times are you working as a group and when will you work alone?
As a group, we started off meeting Fridays around 10a.m. on the second floor of the library. We have messaged each other throughout the weeks, making sure we are collaborating the ideas correctly and gathering the information correctly. Throughout these next weeks we are planning on meeting Mondays and Wednesdays to start piecing together the video and as stated in part A, during the available time that I have I will be working on certain parts of the project.
C. Specifically, what aspect of the project will you address on each of those days?
The aspects that we will be covering during the days we meet is finalizing the video and putting all of our research together exactly where it fits. We will gather every piece of information that is needed and make sure that it’s detailed and relevant to the issue. We will also be working on the music that we will be using throughout the video and looking for great pictures to use as well. Other than that, as a group we are good to go and making sure we meet every requirement given.
D. Specifically, what will you do to complete those aspects of the project?
The things that I will be doing to complete the project, is doing my part and dedicating the time that I have available to conduct individual research. I will do my best to collaborate with my team and share any ideas that we might be able to use.
E. What specific aspects of the assignments are you most concerned about? What can you do to address those concerns?
The aspects that I’m concerned about would be the ability to make sure that each idea and supporting evidence we present isn’t broad, but narrowed and correlates to the message my group is trying to get across. Another concern is not having enough detailed information or going in depth for each point we are covering. We could fix this, by making sure the information that is used is detailed and meets the professor’s feedback.
F. What specific aspects of the assignment are you most comfortable with? Why?
I am most comfortable with the collaboration of ideas for this video project, only because I feel like as a team, we have enough good and liable explanations to include in our video. The interviewees that were interviewed gave each of us excellent answers and we can use them in our video. Each of us brought good ideas to the table and we just need to put them were they fit best in the puzzle.

WEEK 13 !
Time to for action!
A. I will commit to the group project when I don’t have class. Which means I will be working on this Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I also work, so I would have to manage my time wisely to handle this project the right way.
B. Our group has been getting together during Friday mornings. We have been planning to meet Monday or Tuesday mornings as well to make improvements if any in our projects as needed. I will be working alone when I have no class or have work which are the times provided in letter A.
C. A specific aspect of the project I want to focus on will be creating the movie/ video itself. Providing my part of the information will be required, however I would like to put most of my time in the process if making the video.
D. I would like to attend another imovie workshop to be able to enhance my ability to work with the program. This will benefit me in many ways when putting in work with the video itself.
E. I am concerned about how effectively we will be able to gather all our information to put it together in the video we will be making. My group and I could manage this problem by getting together and working things out right there and then instead of waiting last minute. Coordination will be key.
F. I am most comfortable with our team work. This is the base of our project. We are all combining our projects together to make a general video to bring awareness and change into our young society.

Hello Nat, I really love your post specially the alice in wonderland theme! Concerning the information it is awesome. It is great that you will try to address these problems in the future once you have reached your goals. Learning this was a great experience and im glad you were able to take in all the information!
Reflecting on our research skills
WHAT: I learned a lot of information pertaining to my topic and the how to create a literature review. A literature review should not have any biases and should only describe and state past studies on the topic. Researching for my paper took a lot of time and was very time consuming. Finding, reading and comprehending the scholarly articles was interesting and I learned a lot of new information on diversity. The factors that influence diversity and affects that hinder the advancement of diversity is extremely complex. The primary research is where I was able to put all information into perspective and finally be able to make my own conclusions on diversity.
SO WHAT: This literature review and the entire experience is extremely useful for future classes. As a college and research student and future medical professional, I know more about diversity and the obstacles I would need to overcome to treat patients more efficiently and have a better understanding of different cultures. Research is also important for professional research and especially for a graduate degree. I now have experience and I know the process to take when doing a research report.
NOW WHAT: Now that I know the effects on diversity in the medical field, I will be more active towards this issue and try to advocate the problem on diversity. All medical institutions have this dilemma, therefore, bringing my knowledge to administration would be a start to addressing this problem. I will also put the knowledge of researching a topic when I being my masters and maybe a Ph. D. degree in the future. I will be able to research primary sources and gain first hand experiences from that.

Reflecting on my research skills
WHAT:
Learning is part of life and its up to you to make every second of it worth it. During these past 2 weeks i was able to conduct a research in the field of pharmacology and diversity. A lot of information was required and i was able to absorb it all. I was able to learn about my field of study which is pharmacy. Talking to the scholars about their field and how they feel about diversity really opened up my mind to new ideas and different perspectives. Coming now to the actual research it was excellent practice. I was able to learn a few things which included how to cite an interview and properly adjust your information into a research paper.
SO WHAT:
Many students in the university take for granted these types of projects, it is far more important than just writing a paper. What we are doing is building our base for the future. We are understanding how to do it now so when we are older and in our professional fields we wont have to struggle to learn it then. Research papers are done quite frequently. This opportunity is gold and should be taken advantage of not just let it pass by.
NOW WHAT:
After finishing this research paper and understanding the basis of it I am able to apply it to my everyday life. Being able to analyze different perspectives of diversity of Hispanics in the pharmaceutical field was important to me. I was able to open new doors and understand how different people think about the subject. I am able to be more open with others and apply it to my job at Walgreens as Pharmacy technician. This will follow me up to when I am in pharmacy school, having the different perspectives of scholars will aid me in my career and path.

-Goes after the abstract
-Introduces the issue
- Provides background information
- Includes thesis statement
IN- TEXT CITATIONS:
- must be APA format
-Gives credit to the author when paraphrasing or quoting their ides
- Must provide the year that the article or book was published in parenthesis following the authors name

Coverage page, Abstract, References!
The requirements for these sections are specific and should be followed correctly to make a good professional paper.
The cover page or “Tittle page” should be composed of 4 components. Those 4 components are the title of the paper, a running head, the author’s name, institutional affiliation, and an author’s note. The running head can be done only on the first page after that it is not necessary to add. A page number should be added as well and make the paper double spaced times new roman font 12. These are the recommended parts of a cover page.
To continue with the abstract you would start a new page. Following that you will center the tittle “abstract” in the middle of the page. The abstract should not be indented and should be smaller than 250 words. This part of the paper is done to summarize your whole research paper to whomever is reading it.The abstract should be double spaced as well.
Lastly you will put together the references. These are extremely important and should start by centering the word “References” in bold in the middle of the page. You will double space this page and make sure to alphabetize the entries. Every article should have a reference.

Interview Preparation!!!
This Tuesday I had to prepare myself for an interview, but first I had to send in a request and in order to do that I needed to go to my BB Shell and get important documents so send out.
First, I sent out the email requesting the interview
Then, I downloaded the attachments that I need the signed in order to use the information given in the interview.
Then, I download the Interview confirmation note that I needed to send once I got a response.
Finally, I documented what I am going to use for the interview
Now, I’m ready for my interview!!! P.S. I’m badly nervous

Getting ready for the interview!
I first started off by sending an email to my first scholar who i intend to interview. He is my past university instructor so it gave me good hopes on trying to get him to accept the request.
I then saved the interview release form into my drop box to be able to have it in hand just in case of anything. This will allow me to get his permission to continue my interview.
I had my drafted questions ready to go !
A confirmation email will be sent once i get a response!
I will be typing out the responses when I’m at the interview!
And just like that i actually finished... haha

#Week 8 Research - Interview Questions
Looking at the finished matrix I realized that it will be a big help when it was time to write my final research paper. This matrix well organized my sources with the corresponding research question and I don’t have to worry about creating my APA citations last minute. I’m glad that I have 4 sources out of 16. I’m ready to move on to the next assignment!

I began to search for a suitable interviewee that relates to my project and provides more insight to my research topic.
Dr. Olvera is an associate professor and director of research at the University of Texas at El Paso in the nursing department. I believe he will provide great insight on health disparities and the many causes due to a lack of diversity in the medical field. He can provide knowledgeable research on the consequences of diversity and the impact on patients and the medical environment.
Dr. Schoen works at UTEP in the department of rehabilitation counseling. She specializes in issues of diversity and the factors that influence employment rates at hospitals. Dr. Schoen would be extremely informative towards my research topic and may provide details on my definition and consequences section.
Dr. O’Connor works at UTEP in the departments of health science and nursing. She has studied health disparities and could provide important information on diversity are its effects in the medical field.
Now it is time to sleep.

This is the information of my adviser, she helps me and assists me in any problems i have withing the program.
I am not very good at stalking so i was able to find two scholars that would be able to help me during my research.
I start off with the most important person which will be the Dean of the pharmacy school that will open in august of next year in UTEP. Dr. Rivera was my mentor and instructor for a class, I was able to make a contact with him. His office is located in the campbell building downtown where i go to advising.
My second one would be the pharmacist at the walgreens i work in. His name is Jeremy. Soudns very informal, however he is the person who was able to hire me for my interest in the pharmacy field. What makes him different from the other pharmacist is that he is the head of the pharmacy in that specific walgreens so the knowledge he has is infinite when it comes to understanding retail pharmacy.
