There was a time not too long ago when Calum wouldn't even talk about him liking guys, and now they were laying in bed together talking about their future. Michael wasn't completely positive this wasn't all a vivid, lifelike dream. This was literally a dream come true for him. "Of course I will," he says. "I can't imagine my life without you, to be honest. My future'd be incomplete without you in it. It'd be pointless." He wants Calum in his life forever, whether that's as his boyfriend or not. He hopes they'll still be together but he knows that even if they're not, he'll have Calum by his side anyway. Calum's laughter causes something in Michael's stomach to start fluttering and makes his smile widen. Without a doubt, it was his favorite sound. "I won't," he says softly. "I love you."

Michael ducks his head down, hiding his face by burying it against Calum's shoulder in an attempt to cover his red cheeks and wide smile. Calum actually wants to get a dog with him one day. "No, you're not," he says. "I think about our future all the time." He used to just imagine what it'd be like to actually have Calum as his boyfriend, he'd think about what they'd do on dates and he'd think about holding Calum's hand and doing all those cliche couple things. Now he could think about more long term things, like a flat for just the two of them back in Australia - which probably would have happened regardless of their relationship status because they were still best friends after all - and a little dog running around. "I'm sure I'm not mad," Michael promises, laughing a little. He thinks it's sweet that Calum wants to make sure he's not at all upset. He shrugs a shoulder. "More nervous than scared, I guess," he admits. "But I'm pretty okay with everything. I think the way you were outed was shit and you being upset is shit, that's not what I'm talking about. I mean, me coming out and people knowing we're together. I'm kind of happy about that." He kisses the side of his neck. "Don't be scared," he says. His arm around Calum's waist tightens, holding him close. "There's nothing to fear, I am here," he sings, over dramatic and laughing. "I think that's a song. It's something." He kisses the same spot on Calum's neck again. "Seriously though, don't be scared. Everything'll be okay."

Michael: calum fucking loves dogs i'm surprised we don't already have one. we should get one. so should you. can we double date to a puppy place and play with puppies for hours?

Michael: malum its malum. it was malum before we were actually malum. if that makes sense lmao.

Michael thinks for a second, staying silent before nodding. "Hm, yeah," he says. "You make a valid point. And he'd get confused, living with you one week and me the next. Except we live together most of the time, so that probably wouldn't be an issue." Michael watches as Calum posts the photos and he notices him changing his background. He doesn't say anything out loud, but his smile grows notably. "It's okay," he says, and it really is. He thinks he should be more upset about it, more emotional, but he's not bothered. His sexuality was never a big deal to him, never something he really gave too much thought about. It's kind of scary to think about how everyone knows now, but he's more happy than anything, and even relieved that it's not a secret anymore. He kisses Calum again. "I'm not mad or anything," he assures him. "I told you to post the pictures, and I said I wanted to send you kissy faces. If I didn't want to be out, I wouldn't be."

"I never said I'd be good with the dog," Michael says, putting a hand up in defense. "I just think we should get one. I like them enough, and I do think you'd be cute with it." He knew Calum would be cute with a dog. Calum stopped and cooed over every dog he came in contact with and Michael always thought it was the cutest thing he'd ever seen. "You can if you want," Michael says, not even having to think about it. "I wouldn't care." They had just agreed to keep things semi-private, but a part of Michael really, really wanted to show Calum off. Calum had said it best, he wanted to show everyone that he had a cute boyfriend. He was proud to be with Calum, he didn't want to completely hide that.

"Oh, are we going to be that couple?" Michael asks, feigning annoyance but the fondess in his voice and the smile on his face told otherwise. "The ones who take a million pictures of themselves making out and cuddling, and buys a dog together after a month, and dresses it in little doggy sweaters." He pauses for a second, rethinking. "That actually sounds nice. We should get a dog. A little one that we can carry in a purse or something. Or, like a backpack. We wouldn't zip it up all the way, obviously, but we don't carry purses so a backpack - Oh, they make dog carriers! We could just get one of those. Easy." He was just saying ridiculous things on purpose now, anything to keep Calum laughing and happy. He happily sticks his tongue out for the first picture. Michael barely gives Calum time to finish speaking before he presses their lips together for the next picture. He doesn't need to be told twice to kiss Calum. Any excuse he could find to kiss him he would gladly take. "I didn't know you were waiting for a proper answer," he says, laughing. "I thought it was obvious that I wanted to be your boyfriend."

Michael: i am. calum not so much. he was worse but i think i got him feeling a little better.

Michael: i was just an idiot and kissed him in a not so private location and he got caught and outed because of it

Michael gasps. "I can actually use the kissy face?" he asks excitedly, not thinking Calum would actually agree to it. He gets the tweet ready quickly, not wanting to Calum to change his mind before Michael hits send. Once he tweets it, he smiles at his phone. Kissy faces and heart eyes. Subtle. If Michael had tweeted that to Calum a week ago, no one would have thought anything of it, but now, people might catch on. Michael allows Calum to pull him into a cuddle position, his phone being tossed to the side in favor of wrapping his arm around Calum's waist. He's so glad to have Calum smiling and laughing again. The world was a sad, cold place when Calum was unhappy. Michael's world was that way anyway. "Well I don't know," he sighs in thought. "You and Ashton take a lot of selfies together. Couples take a lot of selfies together. I'm just connecting the dots here." If it wasn't already obvious that he was joking, him pressing kisses to the back of Calum's neck in between sentences might have made it clear. "Okay," he says. "We can do that." He didn't have to argue there, keeping things private between them is the smartest move, he knows.
