        ah,  classic qingque.  why was she not surprised of the diviner's tadiness?  her  ...  lack of time management was impressive at times.  tingyun had no part in the divination commission's inner workings and so she did not have any intentions of ratting her out.  signature fan swayed slowly,  a gentle current of air keeping her cool in today's heat.  her usual smile did not waver as head tilted.

        "  i have no reason to.  but how will you explain your delay?  "  her fan shut with a snap and was then used to tap at her chin thoughtfully.  suddenly,  ears perked up and she gestured to a cart she had been pulling behind her.  "  here,  i have an idea.  i am headed to the divination commission myself at lady yukong's request.  let's say  ...  hmm  ...  we ran into each other and i happened to slip!  you see,  these boxes are so unstable and we were already headed to the same place,  so you decided to assist me like the kind soul you are!  "

        the boy's enthusiasm earns a genuine giggle from tingyun as she watches him twirl off just moments after requesting her companionship.   she will never discredit the boy's skills in the blade  —  yanqing is incredible with his swordsmanship.  the last thing she wants is to face him one on one in a duel.  however  ...  his enthusiasm is adorable.  she always thinks of the time she gifted him a set of rare figurines only to find him later with a pair of brand new swords.  a very clever move,  and one that has endeared her to his antics.
