i'm literally the priest's favorite sacrificial lamb because i am so docile and sweet and i hold very still when they put the rope around my neck and i trot along so happily while they lead me to the altar and they do not even have to tie me down because i lie so very still and only bleat once or twice in my lovely lamb voice and when the knife comes down it cuts through me like butter and i offer no resistance and i bleed so prettily all over my new white wool and my guts all unspool like the most beautiful shining yarn and my eyes are animal and dumb and hold no accusation and every time i die i come right back as another little lamb because the priest loves me so so much and he always chooses me for the sacrifice every time and he always places one hand on my small and twitching nose to calm me while he lifts the knife and he doesn't do it for the other lambs only me because i'm his favorite

Enjoy the absolute madness that is Michael Tabb’s Troy adaptation, based on the Iliad and Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida. Includes fun things like:

charioteers with French names

Achilles being an old fart, with two sons named, you guessed it, Patroclus and Pyrrhus

Diomedes being renamed OCTAVIUS STRATO

Troilus watching Cressida wake up through her window every. Single. Morning.��

Cressida being ‘different~’ because she’s ‘feminist~’ and because she wants a man to see beyond her pretty looks~

Cressida consuming her marriage with two broken femurs, which is fine as long as Troilus is gentle with her~

oh, and several heroes walking away from an explosion in slow motion.

I would have my homeland invaded by the sea peoples. I would be lain siege to by the sea peoples. My cities would be sacked by the sea peoples. I would make bronze tools and pottery. My shores would be invaded by the mysterious sea peoples. I would be mustering my armies to fend off the sea peoples.

can I just talk again about how insane the false guinevere arc is. because imagine a woman who looks identical to you showing up to your home, your sister, the one everyone always said you looked like growing up and it was sooo annoying. but you haven’t seen her in years and now she’s come to see you. and she claims that your husband married her, not you, and that you somehow participated in a plot to kidnap her out of jealousy. she says that your husband has been living with the wrong woman for years. you expect your husband to ask why she’s talking about, to say she’s crazy, but he says he wants to know more. he goes missing the next day and stays missing for three months during which you think he is dead. then he returns with your sister and wont speak to you and he is completely in love with her. the two of them take everything you ever loved away from you and even though your friends try to help you what are they going to do? he’s the king. you are almost killed because your husband hates you and you don’t know why and you don’t understand why your sister is doing this to you. then one day she says she was lying and she dies and you can go home. your sister is dead and you have to go home to him. the man who was ready to watch you die.

as much as i love corruption arcs, there's just something so sexy about a character that can't be corrupted, to the point that he un-corrupts you instead
