I posted the link before, but just to make it easier to access, here is a Google Drive folder wich contains videos, images and additional information regaring the projects from Year 3.
Above you can see the current version of my Final Major Project Film "Colours of Love".
I tried to add everything in, but I am missing quite a few elements.
I will change the intro, refine it and fix the distortion AE did to the file.
I have to properly animate the feather, as currently, it is just a placeholder.
I am missing a few backgrounds. I have to finish colouring and fix some lining.
I will add more effects and pay close attention to details.
I have to fix the ending and add a credits sequence.
Also, the music is not finished. I will have a better soundtrack for the graduation show.
I am quite pleased with how this scene turned out.
I animated the character in Photoshop, then I created some textured PNG in Procreate for the wind atmosphere, and then I imported everything into After Effects, where I used a twirling effect and A LOT OF MASKING.
I am very thankful to Steve for his tutorial on using masks! It helped me achieve some interesting effects.
Here is one of Stefania's background transition edits that she did for my film. I liked the idea of the twirling effect. Unfortunately, I didn't end up using her edits, but I was inspired by her idea to create my transitions.
Below I attached a link to the Google Drive folder I created for my Grad Assist team.
I finally got a reply from Holly, and the animation looks amazing! I am very pleased with how the fire was animated.
Holly respected my indications and my sketch to perfection. She did an amazing job.
I will, later on, incorporate it into the animation with the finished character rendered and then edit it in After Effects.
Colouring the scenes took so much more time than I initially anticipated. I have to hand colour everything in or trace an outline, fill it in and then fix the borders… For the elements that have a more defined shape I use the border-fill technique, and for the more loose shapes, such as the hair, I hand-colour everything.
