Il Mheg. This place was a strange one, no matter how many times she came here. The pixies were playful, yet Ruby always had to err on the side of caution with them. Even with Miss Celia’s protection, it was…always a risk, all the same. What made it even more unsettling was the fact that this wasn’t even her home at this point. She had been plucked from Remnant and placed here. It was…strange and disconcerting, but she still tried all the same and made some friends along the way.
Speaking of…
The younger blinked when she heard the sounds of footsteps approaching, turning around out of habit to see Kyrene in the distance. It wasn’t that hard to spot her, all things considering….
“Oh! Hey, Ky. Didn’t think you’d be here in Il Mheg,” she mused, patting a random porxie that came to visit before it flew away.
Ah! There she was.
“I did not think I would find myself here again so soon either.” Kyrene nodded, raising a hand in greeting. “But I heard you were in the area, and remembered you were trying a new job so I...thought I would make you something to help.”
It wasn’t asked for, not even hinted at being needed, but Ruby was small, and young, and--though capable--still needed protecting. Kyrene couldn’t always hover, but she could make something strong and sturdy--something that could protect Ruby in her place.
...She shifted in place, suddenly aware of how presumptuous this all was. “If...If you’d like it, that is...?”

“So many hypotheticals. Can’t you just be honest?” He gave a short bow, introducing himself to her. “I’m friends with a few researchers. We’re looking into the Crystal Tower and Azys Lla and Allag royal history. I swear to you that I won’t tell them anything unless you let me but please, please you’re a one in a million trillion diamond in the rough.”
He played with the end of his multi-colored ribbon. “I have so many questions, and if you’re a first-hand source that would be amazing!”
“Hypotheticals have kept me alive thus far, and out of Garlean hands.” She responded in a low hiss as he came closer. Out of Garlean hands, and not yet driven from within Eorzea itself. Were her true origins brought to light... she shuddered to think that not even the Warrior of Light’s title would be enough to save her from scorn.
“I’ll tell you now though that I will not have all the answers you seek. The Crystal Tower was only just started when I was put into stasis, and I was not overly familiar with the royal family or its history. As for Azys Lla--” she paused, willing her hand not to shake at the mention of the floating isles. “As for Azys Lla, be careful what you seek. There is naught up there that should see the ground below.”

Lily’s eyes grew wide as the second chocobo popped its head up from the shrubbery the two were currently snacking on. The woman placed her hand upon her heart and gave a sigh of relief. She’d been so worried the bird would land itself in danger, or this chase would go on much longer than she’d like.
“Oh, thank the gods,” she’d chuckle nervously, walking toward her Chocobo, whom she’d come to call Falcon, “And thank you for having the greens on hand. Chocobos are such simple birds. Fiends for the stuff, they are.”
The summoner would take a moment to look over her bird, checking for any injuries it may have endured after fleeing. But once all was confirmed well, she’d turn her attention back to the other woman.
“Are you traveling? Which direction are you headed?”
“That they are indeed.” Kyrene agreed, carefully eyeing the interactions between this newcomer and their chocobo. She’d had her misgivings about openly asking about the stranger’s ownership--a horsebird was a handy companion to have, though expensive to come by--but it seemed this was truly the wayward chocobo’s owner. “And it’s no problem at all. If you don’t have any greens on hand, I’m sure I can spare some.”
A crack from the cooking fire briefly brought the Roegadyn’s attention back to it, and she rotated the speared fish to cook evenly before looking back up.
“I’ve an errand in Coerthas to attend to, but I am spending some time gathering here first. There are some items I need to stock up on before heading back into the cold.” In truth, she was putting off the errand as long as she could. The cold was terrible for her. “You?”
