actually the best underrated dynamic is a character who unwillingly possesses a terrible power but refuses to use it unless absolutely necessary despite it constantly wearing down on their self-control to the point of exhaustion as they fight not to give into it and become the worst version of themselves, and their best friend and/or lover who can’t understand what it’s like or help them to bear that particular burden, but who nonetheless sticks by them against all odds and acts as the anchor they need to keep going thanks to their mutual devotion to one another
