Oh, I really like this. The Wilders are supposed to be peaceful Ya*. It's the Maulers who are supposed the ones who are antagonistic towards Lightbearers.

However, AFK Arena has been out for years and has lately been subverting its own basic lore. If you read Oku's and Eorin's lore, you'll see that their animosity towards Lightbearers is justifiable.

* Ya are the chimeric beings (often just barely animal-like) in Esperia. They have Orc-ish origins in that mortal mages tried their own hand at divine creation, but they could not create, only modify. This was long before the war between Dura and Annih.

At some point, they were forced out of the empire and exiled into the desert. Here, they developed a society dependent on war to ensure their own survival. But a significant number of them longed for a more peaceful life and fled into the Dark Forest.

What’s written on red envelopes (红包)?

Let’s celebrate the Year of the Rabbit (兔年) by reading some hongbaos! I recently found a bunch of old hongbaos that I have received over the years. I had already taken the money out, but I guess I set the envelopes aside.

Probably the most common character and most important thing to know is: 福 fú - good fortune / happiness / luck This character is so ubiquitous that there is even a subreddit called r/itisalwaysfu. You will see 福 on some of the red envelopes below.

万事胜意 | 萬事勝意 wànshìshèngyì - may everything be better than you wish

一帆风顺 | 一帆風順 yìfānfēngshùn - to go smoothly / to have favorable wind all the way / have a nice trip

大吉大利 dàjídàlì - luck and prosperity / great luck, great profit

心想事成 xīnxiǎngshìchéng - to have one’s wishes come true
