A Hilda fan here in Toronto may have just made one of the largest and most expensive pieces of fanart there ever has been for not just this show...but for any recent cartoon! averagecessnapilot on the Hilda server took a Piper PA-38 and flew it from Toronto Billy Bishop airport to near Lake Scugog and drew a giant Woff with the flightpath! It's over 20 Km long (or 12.4 Freedom miles for anyone in Big Mac land)! I was in downtown for a class but had I known this was gonna happen, I'd probably have popped by the lakeshore to watch homie here take off to draw a giant ass Woff, lmao!!
This makes me so happy as both a Hilda fan and a long time avgeek!
Seriously, if this doesn't convince you to go watch Hilda, IDK what will!
Bit of a different post, but Stampylonghead's Lovely World series came to an end today, and it truly is an emotional moment. Not just cause like for so many, he defined my childhood and was the reason I got Minecraft, but also because believe it or not, he was a huge influence behind this channel and why I run it it the way I do.
Part of what I love and respect about Stampy is that unlike other YouTubers, he does what he wants to. He never makes a video trying to cling on to the big current trend. He made videos about what he enjoyed and never cared how many subs or views he got. It saw his channel decline and others say he had a downfall, but he never complained or changed who he was to stay relevant. He stayed true to himself and his passions and if people watched him still, they did and if not, he was okay with that. It was quality, not quantity with him!
And that really is how I also try to run this channel. Gravity Falls isn't the big show it used to be, popularity wise and the channel's viewership lately is a good sign of that. And I could easily start making videos about other big shows airing rn or that get a lot of hype and it may boost the viewership, but I'm not. Because I love Gravity Falls and will stay true to it. IDC about views, I do this because I love Gravity Falls still and will make videos for it so long as I have a passion for it. Similarly to how Stampy stayed true to his passions and never changed to stay ahead.
That's a rare thing to see in YouTubers nowadays and why IMO he's one of the most genuine and respectable creators to ever come out of this site. He not only defined childhoods, but is a creator who truly stayed true to YouTube's original motto of Broadcast Yourself.
It's the end of a lovely era, and I hope him nothing but the best. He made this world a tad bit more lovely, with his own Lovely World🧡🤍
Posted over on the website of the Ottawa International Animation Festival. There will be a sneak peek of season 3 there on September 21st…the 5 year anniversary of the show starting! I so wish I could go, but sadly I'm in Toronto.
From them: "Hilda returns, eager to escape the bustling city of Trolberg for a refresh. She embarks on a train with Mum, Frida, David and of course her bold sense of adventure. In Tofoten, Hilda is encouraged to lean into the soft living of this sleepy town by her quirky Great Aunt Astrid – walks by the river, delicious baking, local shopping. But this quiet lifestyle is quickly interrupted when Hilda gets a whiff of something mysterious nearby: a Fairy Mound! Her curiosity leads to more than just an adventure and a new creature-y friend… But to an eerie landscape where danger lurks in the shadows. The third season will uncover truths never explored before in the series! This advanced sneak preview will be followed by an in-person Q+A with Luke Pearson and Andy Coyle – Moderated by Emerald Wright-Collie."
As a lesbian, it’s happened twice already that one “guy” stands out to me and I think “huh maybe they’re kinda cute and interesting, I wanna get to know them” and then I get to know them better and it’s a closeted trans girl who I somehow sniffed with my little nonbinary lesbian nose
