Nope. Nope. Definitely not about the internet, ha. I’m doing alright, I guess. Throwing myself into work.
Work is usually a solid distraction. You recently moved in together, right?

I’m guessing that hindsight isn’t about the internet. How are you doing?
fabrayonthetrax replied to your post: So, I know that I’ve been absent for a while….
That seems like a bit of a whirlwind. Or just incredibly inconvenient, breakup included.
I think it was a little bit of both, to be honest. In retrospect, I probably should have seen it coming.

No. Definitely not. How would I maintain my mystery? If you’re going to expect me to dance, no dice. Unless you’re talking about a lap dance? But, my dear, those never come for free. Ah, yes. Next I’ll be making my clothing out of the curtains. Who knows, maybe something good will come of it and I’ll start my own fashion line? You could model for me.
I wouldn’t be opposed to a lap dance. I can properly judge your body roll, see if it’s up to snuff. I think it’s best to leave the fashion to those with the actual eye for it, save the curtains for the window and stick to building your burgeoning music career.

Two weeks? That’s soon. I take it you settled on a name, then? You’re delivering gifts on time, too? Quinn, I… You’re really turning your life around. Proud of you.

Father’s Day was excellent. There was food–can’t really go wrong there–and a couple of mostly-handmade cards from the ladies in the house.
Listen to you tell it, my life was in shambles before. Take that look somewhere else.
That sounds perfectly adorable. I’m sure there was a golf shirt or two in there, as well.

“I’m not wrong,” Jesse said, smirking as he held his stance. He made a noise between a groan and grossed out. “All of that sounds so… adult. When did we get here? When did I get here? I need this park day more than all of us, it’s decided.” Passing through the gated entrance with the stroller on its back wheels brought another giggled squeal from Viviana. Getting to play semi-stay-at-home-dad for a while had been fun, and Jesse agreed with Quinn that he and Sugar were able to find their balance as best they could in the downtime. He sighed, more thoughtful than resigned. “I’ll take the meeting and see how it goes. Since I have a couple of weeks on my hands, I have some time to weigh the pros and cons.” A sarcastic bark of a laugh left him at his dear friend’s claim about their childhood competitions. "So ‘many’?” Jesse asked, flourishing with word with one-handed air quotes. “If anything, we were tied. Or I won. Vivi will never know the lies of me losing on a swing.”
“We?” Quinn pressed a hand to her chest, eyes wide as they passed though the gates and into the park. “That adult business is all you, Mr. Mom and House Hubby. I remain one of those carefree work spinsters I was warned about becoming. Those nuns knew a thing or two after all.” Her laugh was light and easy, and Quinn supposed she was just vibing off Vivi’s boundless energy. The park wasn’t too crowded, but there were plenty of kids hanging out on the slide and jungle gyms, crawling atop monkey bars with only the carefree kind of ease that came with adolescence and for a brief moment, she was almost jealous of that freedom. “Just don’t weigh them too much, otherwise you’ll talk yourself in or out of something, and that’s how you ended up with that weird hair swoop that made you look like Jimmy Neutron. But nevermind that, let’s discuss you, lying about this tie.” She led the way to the swings, blissfully unoccupied at a shady part of the park and Quinn lifted her shades to cast him a glare. “You know I won. I was smaller. Physics proves my swing would go higher, for that reason alone. I’d challenge you today but I wouldn’t want to embarrass you in front of your own child. So we’ll settle for taking Vivi out for a spin on the baby swings.”

I’m good, crisis averted. What’s new?
Glad to hear. What’s new...business will officially kick off in two weeks. And I actually remembered to send my Father’s Day present to Russell on time. Speaking of the day for dads, how was yours?

Should I get the smelling salts or have you recovered?

Pfft. All talk. And where do the fish come in?
The fact that you don’t know only further proves why this friendship has to end.

OR…. is that when it truly began?
No, that was the beginning of the end. Here we are, at that point. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Honestly, that name really should have been the end of this friendship.
