all the girl has ever known is isolation. what resided outside of her childhood home had always been a mystery. she'd only heard stories of what the world was like and none of it was hopeful. she wasn't given much time to adjust. one moment she's watching her father get dragged away by authorities and the next she's being thrown into a sea of strangers. an environment she's still trying to get a feel for weeks later. it's evident in the way she stands in the middle of godolkin's quad, stiff as a board -- unsure of what to do with herself. if anyone had been staring they'd see how completely lost she was. everyone has their group of friends. and isa? well, she's never had one. not that she can remember, at least.
the girl was contemplating everything. she's on the verge of retreating to her dorm room and never coming out again, but then she hears the sound of her name. isa scans her surroundings for a moment before her eyes come in contact with a familiar face and that familiar face's vibrant pink hair. she beams, giving the boy a palm wide wave. ❝ oh, hey! i see you, too. ❞ obviously. the girl makes her way over to the picnic table he that he is perched upon and without asking permission she sits down right beside him. ❝ waylon. that's your name! yes. i remember because i couldn't stop thinking about whales after you introduced yourself. whale-on. they both sort of rhyme... wouldn't you agree? ❞

IN HIS POCKET, HIS GRANDFATHER'S COIN SITS : it's gold and hardly ever leaves the denim fold, but when it does? then surely, 𝚊𝚜 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚎𝚜𝚝 𝚏𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚍𝚜 𝚠𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚜𝚝, the games have begun. as for now, though ... there was no need for chain nor ring to turn into spear or trident, let alone the coin to come out of his pocket. rather, he waits for isa to join him where he sits, haphazardly on top of a picnic table on campus; his phone beside him on speaker and connected to the aforementioned.

her brain halts in befuddlement. was she making a big deal out of nothing? the girl may not have a lot of real life experience under her belt, but getting shot at felt completely abnormal. then again, her father did warn her about the world outside of their locked doors. even after deceiving her, making her believe she was human when she's no where close to being that anymore --- father still knows best.
❝ wait, i thought, er... isn't shooting people wrong? ❞ the girl yells out from behind the random civilians vehicle she's been hiding behind for a few minutes now. the only thing uncovered were her chocolate optics peering over the hood. the brunette shakes her head in disbelief. she's unable to even fathom why someone she doesn't even know would want to bring her harm. ❝ what did i do? if i did something wrong you can tell me. please. let me fix it. ❞
