slayxdemons ( bellamy )

he didn’t know her personally. had only met the girl a few short weeks ago when she came in for a tattoo. all business it had been. ( i.d. please. fill this out. i’ll get my things ready. ) of course, as he was permanently etching names into her skin, right there on her bicep, bellamy learned that she had been in the military. he knew better, of course, than to ask personal questions about her tours, so the topics went to easier things. less personal. and he smiled when she came back a second time for another round. just another small piece.

bellamy’s small tattoo parlor didn’t get a whole lot of business. not quite on the map. so, he’s pleased to see her return. and he’s grateful that he doesn’t have too many employees to bug her about the tiny tattoos she comes in for. ( why not something bigger? i’ll do it for you. ) his employee, murphy, had interrupted their last session. though he wasn’t surprised.

“i have a few wild ones,” who wouldn’t? drunken night. bets made during those too many shots at the bar. best friends parting ways wanting to get their friendship tatted on them forever. ( to remember me by! ) he’s seen it all. but, he can’t pick just one to tell. “i don’t know. wouldn’t that go against some code of conduct?” he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. just making it harder for her to get a good story out of him. the buzz of the needle sounds, a smile curving onto his lips as he concentrates on the straight lines of the art. “what do i get out of embarrassing one of my customers?”

people like to watch car crashes happen, like to see the destruction of things. add some patriotic values in, and no one can take their eyes off it. people want to KNOW what it is that happened, how things got so twisted about, how she became broken. they try to hide it, act polite, not stare too long, but she never misses it, never. but he doesn’t seem to look at her that way, and at the very least he doesn’t ask, doesn’t ask her about what it is that hurt her, doesn’t ask to hear the stories she aches to forget. it’s smart really, not to ask. she’s not the kind of girl to piss off, and even with a useless leg, she’s got the ability to do some damage. but then again, so does he, with that needle pressed to her back. couldn’t do worse that’ she’s already had though.

“ the pleasure of entertaining this one ?? ” her voice is playful, lighter than most people’s would be while a needle punched their skin again and again. raven’s lips curl into a soft smile, one that she’s not too conscious of. she didn’t mean to like talking to this guy, didn’t mean to at all. “ what good is a story if you can’t tell it ?? ”

This might be a MISTAKE. But Roan isn’t certain he wouldn’t mind making it again. He has had eyes for her for a long time. Always felt some sort of ATTRACTION he refused to acknowledge. But they’re both out of the military now and there was nothing stopping them. He thought they were on the same page until he feels the mattress lift beside him, feels the warmth leave his side. His eyes open after a few moments, shifting to look at her as he watches her nearly FRANTICALLY getting her clothes back on. “Where’re you going?” it isn’t accusatory or demanding, said in a sleepy voice and more asking a different question. Why are you sneaking away in the middle of the night?

mistake. yeah, that’s what she’d call THIS, that’s what is. but if she closed her eyes and let go, other words would come to mind. intoxicating, appealing, familiar, necessary, desirable, pleasurable, safe, RIGHT. and raven does close her eyes, but it’s to think of an excuse. not that she’s going to find one good enough to hide the truth. she’s running, away from him, away from this, away from the feeling in her chest. his voice is low, and it makes her shiver. that sound, it makes her WANT to crawl back into his bed, into his arms. instead she searches for her underwear. “ i have work in a couple hours. ”

Clarke forced a smile, trying her best to make the best out of her current situation. It made her a little uncomfortable, but maybe another sip or two of moonshine can mask that.

“Yeah,” she muttered, “Bellamy talked some sense into me,” she tried to tease back even though the attempt at entertainment fell flat, still she offered a nervous chuckle in her own accord. Raven had only recently joined them – and by complete surprise – what had happened before her arrival was a mistake.

“Look–” she blurted out, turning to face the brunette completely and taking another swig of her, “we’re stuck here.. we’ve got to work through this, Raven, you can’t stay mad at me forever. If we want to survive down here we have to work together.”

Then, she had to take another drink. She gazed forward, brows knitted slightly and her shoulders rolled back once and pressed down. There was a tightness in her chest that she had to conquer, which she would do after Raven either accepted or declined her attempt of an apology.

raven wasn’t the kind to TALK about things like clarke, to hash it all out, make it NICE and neat. this was a new situation for her. raven never had a whole lot, but what she has was FINN. she had him without question, without hesitation, without competition, without DOUBT. and now ?? all of that was GONE, or at least it would be if she didn’t find a way to deal with this. maybe she should ask the princess for a plan. they are her specialty after all.

“ we’re all good, princess. ” she’s LYING, of course she’s lying. but raven can’t say what she wants to say, because it’ll get back to finn, and he’ll just get pushed closer to his little blonde mistake. and that’s what raven wanted him to think of her as, a MISTAKE. but she she has a sinking feeling that’s not the word that comes to his mind when he thinks of clarke. she’s afraid it something else, something that starts with the letter L.
