“911, what’s your emergency?”

“I would like to report a missing person”

I was lost

Broken

Outspoken

Silenced beneath the piercing screams

To weak to mention my needs

I walked alone on a broken path

Darkness embraced my human cast

A sound mind

A sound body

A sound soul

All of these things I could no longer control

I was ice

I was fragile

Pressure me to hard I would crack

Shatter into millions of pieces

There was no going back

Mistakes were made

Decisions that were finalized

I swallowed those pills

We are a community

We want what is best for you

But

This is the outline

Please follow it

Go to school, study, pass, be educated, have a minimum of 8 hours of sleep,

Exercise for 1 hour, have a social life

Repeat.

This is what you want but yet there are not enough hours in a day. 24 hours, 1440 minutes

But yet I still don’t have enough time

Now let’s calculate

6 hours of school

8 hours of sleep

1 hour of exercise

But wait we still have at least

3-4 hours of homework

Chores, cooking , cleaning and just life in general

Let’s say another 6 hours

Along with a social life that’s 2 more hours

That right there is 26-27 hours

But hold up, wait a minute we only have 24 hours in a day

So we start cutting corners

Sleep cut

Exercise cut

Social life cut

Homework cut

Now we are stressed

Sleep deprived

Health failing mentally and physically

But because we cut corners on homework

Now we start failing classes

Teachers questioning

Parents yelling

Life is a mess

You try to cope

Pills

Therapist visits

Cutting

Maybe even admittance to the psychiatric ward

Just a spiraling mess

A free fall with no one to catch you

Surprise you’re diagnosed with depression and anxiety

The friends you have some stay and some leave

They have their own plates full

They said the education system is there for you

But really you’re just another set of numbers to be passed along
