Fenty Beauty Foundation in 350 Illuminates My Black Boi Magic
Have you ever wanted to look like a majestic unicorn frolicking on the pristine beaches of Barbados? Or perhaps you’ve wanted your face to glimmer in the sunlight during a quick trip to the grocery store. Or maybe, if you’re like me, you just want to be the beautiful goddess, Rihanna. Now, I may not have a genie to wish myself into actually becoming Rihanna, but I do now have the option to recreate that immaculate complexion of hers at home.
Robyn Rihanna Fenty changed the game last year when she dropped her own makeup line, Fenty Beauty, including a foundation with a whopping 40 shades. The launch marked a pivotal moment in the cosmetics industry. Rihanna’s line provides tones that expanded beyond the generic options offered by most brands, and when the darker shades flew off the shelves, the old excuse that "dark shades don't sell" was proven unequivocally wrong. Soon after, nearly every other brand scrambled to create more hues. But it wasn't just the number of foundation shades that shook things up. Fenty Beauty produced (and continues to produce) unprecedented marketing by overwhelmingly advertising people of color, especially models with darker skin tones. The range of inclusivity seems limitless. No longer do people of color need to blend various shades to match their tones. And with affordable prices, Fenty is here to dominate.
Since Fenty’s launch, I’ve experimented with the Pro Filter Soft Matte Foundation #350. I don't wear makeup daily, but I do keep basic foundation on hand for photoshoots, filming, or runways. I have combination skin: it’s oily around my T-Zone, cheeks, and jaw, while the area between my brows is prone to flaking and eczema. I've always had clear skin, but after I began medically transitioning and experiencing my second puberty (how fun) I started breaking out, plus I’ve had problems with scarring from ingrown hairs and shaving. Despite these minor skin issues, Fenty has worked it’s magic.
Fenty’s Pro Filter Foundation might be advertised as matte and medium coverage (although, you can build it up to high coverage as one beauty blogger posted, but the texture is surprisingly lightweight. I apply it using my fingers and find this produces the best results. I generally need a very small amount, adding more around my jaw if my beard happens to be shaved. It sits nicely on my skin (i.e. no streaks or cakiness); and it appears and feels so natural that I often forget I have makeup on. When I wear it I also find that I don't need to use any concealer as the foundation provides enough coverage.
So how do I like it?
I love it.
The Pro Filter Soft Matte Foundation is super long-lasting. It stays put through an entire work day and I find myself using it before events because it doesn’t melt in the sun or the heat.
Despite the matte finish and the long wear claims, my skin still looks fresh when I wear the Pro Filter Soft Matte Foundation. I could sleep just two hours and still look like Halle Berry on my worst skin days if I use this. I constantly receive compliments about how clear my skin looks, which has drastically boosted my confidence, especially on shoots. It's my go-to foundation now; each time I wear my the Fenty Foundation, I feel like breakfast, lunch, and five-course feast.
I would personally like to thank Rihanna for giving other people of color an opportunity to think we can look like her, even if we're just heading to the store to pick up some groceries (kidding). People of color are already beautiful and this foundation only helps to illuminate our richness. I am thankful for the inclusivity of this line. I am also thankful for a brand that encourages people of all genders to express themselves and gives them the confidence to do so through makeup.

We're excited to report that here in New York, the weather truly, finally feels like fall, and over the weekend, the street style crowd made sure to throw on their best autumn-ready ensembles. One of the looks that deemed popular on Saturday was wearing a blazer as a jacket — an outerwear choice that may have outnumbered the usual moto or denim types that we're used to seeing at fashion week.

Though most showgoers opted for an oversize silhouette in black or gray, we also saw versions in polka dots and a fall-friendly plaid. And sure, wearing a blazer with trousers or straight-leg denim is a classic choice, but we're particularly drawn to the tailored piece worn with a hyper-feminine dress, as seen on Kim Cam Jones and Yasmin Sewell, who previously told Fashionista that the pairing was one of her all-time favorite looks. We just might have to take that style tip from her, too.

Charlottesville Schools Shut Down for a Second Day Due to Threats of Racist Violence Against Students of Color
Schools in Charlottesville, Virginia, are closed for the second day in a row due to a threat of racist mass violence. According to Charlottesville newspaper The Daily Progress, this stems from a message that reportedly threatened an “ethnic cleansing in the form of a shooting” and warned white students at Charlottesville High School (CHS) to stay home, posted by someone claiming to be a CHS student.
The Washington Post reported that an anonymous online message being investigated included a racist meme with slurs for black and Latinx people, and threats to attacks students of color at CHS.
According to the Post, the closures will keep more than 4,300 students at home for a second day on Friday, March 22, following school closures on Thursday, March 21.
“There needs to be a real conversation about how students of color are being supported,” said Zyanha Bryant, the 18-year-old president of CHS’s Black Student Union. “It is dangerous to continue to categorize racism as just person-to-person experiences without calling attention to the systems that work to uphold and enforce racist policies.”
“We’re still allowing this kind of racism in our school,” Althea Laughon-Worrell, an 18-year-old at CHS told the Post. “It is because of racism, and because we haven’t dealt with this, that this person decided to post this.”
Charlottesville was the site of the infamous and deadly 2017 Unite the Right rally, which helped spark a national conversation about racism and white nationalism in the United States; a conversation some were already having.
“We would like to acknowledge and condemn the fact that this threat was racially charged. We do not tolerate hate or racism,” Rosa Atkins, Charlottesville City Schools superintendent, said in a message to families. “The entire staff and School Board stand in solidarity with our students of color — and with people who have been singled out for reasons such as religion or ethnicity or sexual identity in other vile threats made across the country or around the world. We are in this together, and a threat against one is a threat against all.”
According to the The Daily Progress, it was announced on Wednesday night that schools would be closed Thursday for the sake of student and staff safety; the school division, Charlottesville police, Virginia state police, and the FBI have all been involved in the investigation, seeking to determine the credibility of the threat.
“After evaluating all of the information that we've received to date, understanding that all of these threats should be taken seriously due to the nature of it, the content of it, and how specific the threat was, the Charlottesville schools have decided to close all of the schools in the district as we evaluate and continue to gather information,” Charlottesville police chief RaShall Brackney said.
According to CBS 19 News, a concerned citizen tipped authorities off about the threat, which had circulated in images on Reddit and other social media sites, The Washington Post reported. But that Reddit post was only a screenshot of a post from 4chan, an anonymous message board site known for white supremacist activity, which was recently banned temporarily by Australian telecommunications companies for hosting video of the Christchurch mosque massacres.
A separate incident of a school threat against nearby Ablemarle High School resulted with a suspect in custody, according to NBC 29; investigators said there was no reason to believe those threats were connected to the threats made toward Charlottesville city schools.

Honestly you’ll get lost in all the splendor of this gorgeous soirée beautifully captured by Jess Withey. It’s all about the details at this sun-kissed destination wedding in Puglia which is the perfect wedding planning aperitivo.
From the photographer, Jess Withey: Sarah and Jake’s wedding, for me, is unrivalled when it comes to style. These guys oozed classicly cool simplicity, and I think you’ll see from the images as their wedding was a direct reflection of this. Every detail was meticulously thought through, but the atmosphere on the day was far from high maintenance. These guys came to party! I’ll never forget their first dance, the sun was setting, the air was warm, a gentle breeze as the saxophonist played – it was more like a party in Ibiza than a stuffy wedding reception. All the guests were fully invested, hands in the air – taking in every second of the last warm rays of the sun. It. was. dreamy.
Goal in life: to be as cool as this flower girl. I mean talk about #GOALS! Destination wedding (check) in southern Italy (check), glam sunglasses (double check).
What made you choose the venue you chose?
From the bride and groom: I mean have you seen it? The place is so beautiful and just magical, we knew from the moment we saw it online that it was the one. When we made the trip over to Puglia to meet with the owners daughter, Chiara it only confirmed what we already knew. We were in LOVE (with the venue). We also really wanted our guests to experience something different which is another reason we chose Masseria Potenti, we wanted a venue that guests wouldn’t normally visit, we didn’t want anything traditional or one of those ‘conveyor belt’ wedding venues.
Where did you find inspiration for your style, colors, etc.?
Pinterest & Instagram. We had so many Pinterest boards and ended up following so many wedding blogs, magazines, and dress designers. We kept everything very neutral as it was fitting with the white washed venue but we’re also big fans of keeping it simple and timeless. We did add a pop of color to my bouquets and the bridesmaids for contrast & stop everything feeling too washed out.
What are your favorite memories from the day?
Everything! I literally loved every second but the food, the guests, the fireworks and the party atmosphere were the highlights!

Applying to College Early Is a Privilege Not Every Student Can Afford
When Catie Higgins learned that she had been accepted to Loyola University Maryland, she was ecstatic. It was her top school choice and one of the few universities in the United States that offered an elementary education major.
She had applied early to Loyola in late 2016. In December of her senior year of high school, she believed her acceptance meant she was done with the college application process.
She was wrong. Catie received her final financial aid package weeks after her acceptance letter and realized she couldn’t afford the school. Her first instinct was to apply elsewhere, but application deadlines for other schools on her list had long passed.
More than two months ago, this year’s high school seniors heard back from their early application colleges. Some of these students applied to schools under an early action program, which allows applicants to be notified of their acceptance in December without making a commitment to attend. Others submitted early decision applications; early decision is a binding program that requires applicants to pledge their attendance to a school if accepted.
Both processes give applicants a leg up in the admissions process, with early decision being particularly advantageous. The hundreds of schools that use early decision say the system prioritizes the students who are most interested in their schools.
However, these schools neglect to mention that the system prioritizes wealthy students in a process that is already heavily stacked in their favor. Students like Catie who apply through an early decision program are applying under the assumption that they will be able to afford the school, only to find out they cannot when their financial aid is later calculated. This system benefits kids whose parents likely foot a large percentage of their college tuition bill each semester.
Low-income and middle-class students often want to compare multiple financial aid offerings when choosing a school, but a binding early decision acceptance prevents them from doing this. It is possible to relinquish an early decision spot if the financial aid awarded is not satisfactory; but students who want to do this must do so before applying to any other schools and, therefore, before seeing any other financial aid offerings for comparison.
Many low-income students consequently avoid applying early altogether — even when they know doing so would give them a boost in the college admittance process.
Juan Amaya, a first-year student at Columbia University, was one of those students. He attended Sachem High School East in Long Island, New York, and chose to submit all of his college applications through regular decision.
He considered early decision initially, he tells Teen Vogue. “Being a low-income student, and particularly a first-generation college student, you’re basically playing a game of gambling if you ...do regular decision. Early decision gives you the peace of mind to apply and say, ‘If you get in, I got in, and I’m going to college, period.’”
But as the November 1, 2018, application deadline edged closer, he decided against the binding process.
“I definitely wanted to compare financial aid packages,” he says. Despite the advantage it gives, Juan says he knew early decision would make this impossible.
Juan applied to eight colleges — regular decision — and ended up at Columbia. “In the end, it kind of worked out for me,” he says. “But I know [for] so many first-generation, low-income students that’s not always the case.”
Juan’s decision to forgo the advantages that come with early decision for the ability to compare financial aid offerings is indicative of a larger trend among low-income students. During the 2013–2014 academic year, only 16% of high-achieving students from families earning less than $50,000 each year applied to college early decision, according to a study from the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping low-income students. On the other hand, 29% of students from families making more than $250,000 annually used early decision in their college process.

Kelsey Merritt on Making History as the First Filipino Model at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
"We did it Philippines," 21-year-old rising star Kelsey Merritt posted on Instagram in September. She was announced as the first Filipina model ever to walk in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show — which is scheduled to air on Dec 2 on ABC. "It feels like a dream," she told Teen Vogue. "Getting the show is the dream come true but being the first Filipino woman to walk in the show means I’m making history. The show is broadcast on more than 190 countries with models from 20 countries and I got chosen to represent my region. Blessed!"
While Kelsey is undoubtedly making history by bringing more diversity to the runway, she has also received plenty of backlash from the Filipino community. "My only issue with Kelsey Merritt, is that you can almost see that she’s pure American," a user shared on Twitter. "It would not be that difficult for her to get cast as VS as she fits the ff standards: tall, skinny, and white." Another said: "tbh what’s the point of celebrating Kelsey Merritt as the first Filipino to be in VS when she a) is white passing so it’s not exactly representation and b) VS is trash anyways?"
The issue of colorism has always been a huge part of Filipino culture. Kelsey has a Filipino mother and a white American father making her half Filipino. Similarly, a number of the Philippines' well-known actors, singers, and models are often multi-racial with lighter skin as it fits the country's ideal standards of beauty, naturally leaving little opportunity for anyone else trying to make it in the industry.
As an immigrant who moved overseas, I haven't been able to escape this problematic mindset. There's not a summer that goes by when a fellow Filipino doesn't admonish my complexion by saying "you're so dark" in the most condescending tone. And I can't count how many relatives have offered me a skin-whitening product after a sunny day at the beach.
It's clear that our attitude toward darker skin tones must change, but going after Kelsey is counter-productive especially given her strong connection to the country she calls home. "Pinanganak ako sa Pilipinas at lumaki ako sa Pampanga. Tinapos ko ang pagaaral ko sa Manila bago ako lumipat sa US last year. Mas pinoy pa dugo ko kesa sa mga 'pure' na hindi pa nakatapak sa [Pilipinas]," Kelsey explained on Twitter — which translates to, "I was born in the Philippines and I grew up in Pampanga. I finished my school in Manila before I moved to the US last year. My blood is more Filipino than the 'pure' who have never set foot in the Philippines." Kelsey's lighter skin tone doesn't negate the fact that she proudly identifies as Filipina.
Several commenters spoke out in Kelsey's defense. One chimed in about what it really means to be "pure Filipino." "I think people are being really unfair to Kelsey Merritt," he said. "She lived in the Philippines, studied there...and doesn't shy away from her cultural identity. Yet some of you wanna shame her because she shares a few features of Westerners." Kelsey is thankful for the support and she isn't letting the criticism get her down. "People will always have their opinion of you despite of who you are," she mused, just hours before the VS Fashion Show started. If she had the chance to respond to each critic individually, she says, "I would love to tell them that I am just me."
The truth is Filipino people run the gamut from light skin to dark skin and everything in between. Though you can't deny that there needs to be more representation for darker-skinned Filipino people on the runway and in media in general, that doesn't mean we can't celebrate Kelsey's appointment. It doesn't mean we can't acknowledge the significance of a Filipina model on the Victoria's Secret runway — even one that has more "Western features." Her casting is still progress for a brand that's never booked a Filipina model for the VS Fashion Show. In fact, Victoria's Secret only booked the first Filipina model (Janine Tugonon) for their ads two years ago.
I hope that in the future there are more Filipina women who look like me on the runway, but that won't stop me from cheering Kelsey on today — a model who is fighting for representation for all of us. She is determined to break down barriers for Southeast Asian models, on the Victoria's Secret catwalk and beyond. "I would love to see not just more Filipino but also more southeast Asian models in the fashion industry," she said. And, for those that are curious as to why wedding dresses are typically white, well, that’s all Queen Victoria’s fault. I’m crying because, I am finally a best selling author!
At the beginning of my authoress journey, I wanted to be a New York Times bestselling author. I wrote it down in every journal I owned. Like how you practice your spelling words. Then I would practice how people would introduce me at all my Ted Talks. Introducing Ty Alexander, New York Times Best Selling Author. I even drafted an email signature for the arrival of my new best selling title.
It never came!
I quickly realized that selling books is a far different beast than actually writing books. We were planning our wedding so I didn’t have money for PR. We were moving to another state so I didn’t do a press tour. I didn’t do any speaking engagements. I thought I’d write this book and you’d buy it because… duh it’s a good book.
I was sad. I felt defeated. I was disappointed. And after of a year or so of no accolades and no list making I decided that perhaps that best seller goal was meant for another time, maybe another book.
I am extremely proud of my first book. Women across the country email me and tell me how my words have helped them during their grieving process. I’m honored to be so intimately attached to something so private for people. So those things became more valuable and more important than any list I would have made.
However…
I just got an email from my publisher. I am officially a #1 Best Selling Author on Amazon.
She said, “It’s a good thing to brag every now and then.” So I’m doing just that. Also really trying to get better at celebrating myself.

Do People Still Think That Genes Are The Deciding Factor In Hair Length?
Do you remember back in the day in school where there was always one black girl with long hair? We looked on at her mane in awe wondering how she managed to grow it that long even though her answers to our questions were vague and unsatisfactory.
We tried using the same products that she did with no positive results so we came to the conclusion that it must be her genes.
If you are a regular reader of BHI you are probably thinking 'Seriously are people still thinking like that?' Well the answer is a resounding YES!
On our facebook page we hear the most ludicrous of comments such as 'black hair cannot grow long', and 'she must have won the genetic hair lottery'. Oh and please do not dare come from a 'fully African heritage because then you are pretty much limited to one inch of hair for the rest of your life'.
The internet has changed our lives in that it allows us to share information pretty much instantly and effortlessly through websites like this one, youtube and hair boards. For the black community this has meant a way of sharing hair and beauty 'secrets' that were once held by the few but now known to many.
I'm sure my tone already tells you what I think about this 'genetics idea' and if this was Mythbusters I would be just about done busting this myth! Honestly though there is a lot of confusion with certain terms such as genetics, race, and culture.

HBO is Hiring "Intimacy Coordinators" for All of Its Sex Scenes
HBO announced that it's hiring "intimacy coordinators" to supervise each one of the network’s numerous sex scenes. They’ll serve as advocates for the actors, relaying their concerns to directors and ensuring that performers are comfortable—and appropriately covered up—during filming.
Rolling Stone reports that the move was instigated by The Deuce actor Emily Meade, whose role as a prostitute requires her to do sex scenes. Last year, as the #MeToo movement was reshaping Hollywood, Meade demanded that the network hire an advocate who would help protect her during filming. HBO brought on Alicia Rodis, cofounder of Intimacy Directors International, to work on The Deuce. Now, they’re expanding the role across the network:

In practical terms, Rodis is a mediator among actors, directors, producers and crew. She reviews scripts, facilitates group discussions about the sex scenes they’re going to film and meets with actors individually. When new or tweaked sex scenes are added to a day’s shoot, she is often the one to break the news to an actor, checking in to clarify what their personal boundaries are — to make sure, as she puts it, “consent is informed and certain before we move forward.” Then she advocates for the actors in discussions with the production team.
“It’s not the things [she does] that are so radical,” Meade says. “It’s just having someone other than yourself to think about it. It shouldn’t be a radical concept to give someone something to cover their private parts. But to have someone do it at all — the gesture of it — it helps.”
HBO has been criticized for including gratuitous rape scenes in shows like Game of Thrones and Westworld. While the hiring of intimacy coordinators like Rodis isn't intended to shape the content of the network's programming, it'll hopefully make the sets safer for all actors involved. "Here we are a year after #MeToo and Brett Kavanaugh sits on the Supreme Court. Donald Trump is our president," Rodis told Rolling Stone. "Now, tell me we don’t need this — that we don’t have a culture that needs to still be changed."

Steal Alert: 48% off J. Crew through 12/5
NOBODY MOVE. J. Crew’s website seems stable. For now. And that wasn’t the case on Black Friday – Cyber Monday. And while this deal isn’t quite as good (2% less of a discount, not as much stock), you guys have sent in a few tips about this one, so… off we go with some picks. Fingers crossed their servers don’t burst into flames. Big thanks to John P. for the tip!
Check out the close up of that knit. English wool from Moon Mills. Looks like a super high quality alternative to their Lambswool chore jacket which has long since sold out. The year of the sweater jacket (or the swacket) continues to be strong.
Just over ninety bucks for a vintage-inspired, but still highly functional, gore-tex waterproof boot? That seems oddly good. Breathable too thanks to that gore-tex.
Navy (on the left) has plenty of sizes left, while the forest green is scattered at best. That deep red cabernet color? Long gone. New Year’s Eve is fast approaching.
Gloves are a lot like sunglasses. Some of us can hold onto them without trouble, others leave them in every train, cab, plane, Airbnb, etc… that we step into. If it was socially acceptable, some of us might start tying strings to our gloves like we had with our mittens when we were six years old.
A classic OCBD that comes in a true slim fit and is made from American grown Supima cotton. Tons of colors to pick from. Yes, they’re made overseas, but the reviews are solid. Are there cheaper OCBD options out there? Absolutely. But not many now that they’re half off.
The bluchers of their new Italian Leather collection. Goodyear welted. One fifty-five. Not bad for a basic shoe that’s about the shoe-iest shoe to ever shoe.
Four color options. Basically the same sweater (at least it looks to be from here?) but one is considered to be heathered, and the other is donegal. Beats me.
These always make the annual best sportcoats of fall post and for good reason. Softer tweed than what you might be envisioning. Less construction too. Half lined. Shown above is a 40R on 5’10″/ 185. Full review here.
Solid on one side, micro windowpane (check?) on the other. All cashmere.
Unisex. A great gift for the gear lugging dude (or yourself,) or, something for the lady in your life. As someone who carries in a briefcase, a duffel bag (gym = early AM for me), and sometimes a tote (products to review and or giveaway to you guys…) I can appreciate something like this.
A favorite that was out of stock at one point during the Black Friday – Cyber Monday corridor. Extremely well reviewed. And not some dinky thing either. 17 1/2″H x 26″W x 9 1/4″D = over four thousand cubic inches of space. So, it has room. Seems to go out of stock a lot.
A basic that you’ve got to admit is at a pretty solid price. Merino wool + nylon blend. Lots of colors.
J. Crew’s take on the classic Peacoat, now down for around Army/Navy surplus store prices. And these can compete with the real thing. Good wool, a bit of insulation, those hand warmer pockets are a huge benefit, and it’s slightly longer than far too many peacoats that chop the tail short.
It has to be said again. Micro dots (not big blobby cartoon polka dots), are a great way to break away from the tyranny of stripes. Made in their secret wash, stretch fabric.
I don’t know how the leather quality is on these things. Just one review so far, and it’s encouraging, but know that in the past J. Crew has been a little hit or miss on leather accessories.
A less expensive version of the all leather option. Less leather will do that.
More of a classic fit. I’m guessing any fisherman worth his salt would smack you upside the head with a mackerel if you asked if he had ever worn skinny jeans. And while fisherman probably don’t shop at J. Crew, J. Crew has nailed the traditional Aran Fisherman’s sweater look here. 100% wool. Has a Hemingway look about it.
ORRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr… There’s this. Not bad for an all wool, classic cable, not-quite-fisherman’s sweater from their upgraded Wallace and Barnes line. For being such a simple piece, this thing has a lot of potential.
A lot of brands push solid cashmere scarfs this time of year. And that’s fine and understandable. But it doesn’t take much of a pattern to set a scarf apart. And here’s the proof.
Speaking of small details that can set something apart, check out that stitch. All cashmere once again.
A cotton, 3 season (or year-round if you live in a warm climate) classic. One of the better reviewed items from J. Crew’s line up. Also available in blue.
What do you call a wool, colorblocked bomber? That’d be a letterman jacket. No letters necessary here either. Also available in a burgundy option.
Yes you can find cords for less (see GAP), but some of you are pretty tied to J. Crew’s pant fits. All three fits available here. Lots of colors to pick from. Cotton with a bit of elastane for stretch.
No lining here except for the sleeves. A little less stuffy compared to a traditional, hard shouldered, gold buttoned navy blazer. Full review here. Just the “galvanized iron” shade left with any size selection.
Big fan of J. Crew’s merino cardigans. Nice material, available in classic or slim fit, and unlike much of the competition, there’s a good sized placket here. Thin cardigan plackets can look a little feminine sometimes. Just wish they made them in more colors. You can have it in any color you’d like… as long as it’s navy.
Cotton canvas body, and unzips/unfurls so you can get your suit or jackets (and shoes and what not) to and fro while minimizing creasing and wrinkling risks. Yes, the zippers weren’t designed the best (read the reviews) but attaching a couple of pulls should solve that problem. And most bags like this will run you a heck of a lot more money.

You just know it if you’ve settled into something, or with someone, that you’re not actually really keen on. You have that lingering sense inside of you, and although it might just be cold feet initially, if that persists – she probably ain’t the gal for you.
You Don’t Share The Same Future Goals
It’s all about creating a future together, right? So if you’re not going in the same direction, either she caves to you (hello future resentment) or you cave to her (goodbye goals). Ultimately you want to be with someone who shares the same, or similar, thoughts and goals as you regarding the future.
She Has A Sordid Past
This is a contentious point, but one I’m happy to make. If you’re just a normal everyday dude, and this girl has a crazy background, psycho parents or boyfriends, etc. the chances of her being great for you are slim. Sure, some people grow beyond terrible pasts, but some don’t, so you need to decide which camp your girl is in. And you do need to be careful here – crazy girls tend to have what I call ‘the gambling effect’ which is where you get sucked into the drama and start feeling all kindsa crazy emotions. I’ve seen some great men fall to psycho women. They also are usually great in bed, which doesn’t help.
You Look Forward To Her Leaving
Have you ever had a girl over and found yourself lying about things to do in the morning – an early start at work, a sudden lunch meeting, etc. just so that she would leave? Yeah – if you’re not looking forward to spending time with her, especially after sex, then that’s a fair sign that she ain’t for you.
She’s A Bit Mental
Point blank – is she crazy? This can happen a lot, particularly when the girl is really attractive. Men will tolerate a remarkably large amount from a girl, just because she is hot. Is she nuts, insanely possessive, completely irresponsible, etc.? Well, are these signs of your dream girl?
She Contributes Little To Your Life
This is huge. If you’re giving up random hookups in bars and casual dating, you want a girl who is going to contribute to your life, yes? So, is she? And no I don’t mean buying you shit, I mean inspiring you to be a better person, helping you with your life, growing you into a better man.

Again, the hotness factor comes into play here. A girl being hot doesn’t necessarily mean that she is for you, or even that you necessarily like her. Look beyond the looks and ask – do you like her as a person? Would she be a good mother? Does she treat other people well?
Do you feel a strong desire to have sex with her? Does the sight of her naked still get you going? If not, move on. Otherwise you will likely be that middle aged husband getting busted on CCTV banging his secretary in the office after hours.
As cliché as it sounds – communication really is everything. If you can’t chat openly and move beyond the shit times, and you can’t chat to share the good times, what really do you have? In the eternal words of Christopher McCandless (before he died alone in a deserted bus in the snow) – happiness is only real if shared. And sharing means communicating.
