I just re-read the wicked king and that scene when Jude went to Cardan's room because she wanted to tell him that Balekin wanted him dead, but when he woke up he just put her on his bed and talked with her really casual and soft even though she WAS TELLING HIM THAT HIS BROTHER WANTED TO KILL HIM... I just love it
