Mesmerize by the beauty of Paguriran Island
The fascinating Paguriran Island in Sawanga, Bacon, Sorsogon is one of the sorsoganon’s pride, it can be reached by motorized boat, either from Buenavista which will take just 20 minutes, or from the Bacon District center which will take 40 minutes.
Tumblr media
It had been featured in several print media because of its picturesque view, but it still remained almost untouched or undeveloped and that’s what I love about this place. Except that the coastline is developed as a resort and there are cottages near the shore that you can rent from 200 PhP to 300 PhP.
Tumblr media
The Beautiful Island with lagoon enclosed by a rocked formation that looked like a crater of volcano was an uplifting pleasure. You can enjoy snorkeling and swimming and see schools of colored fishes in these shallow waters.  In the past, the lagoon used to be a sanctuary for giant sea turtles or pawikan. Residents say there are plans to restore the pawikan sanctuary. At present, the water surrounding the island is Bacon’s marine sanctuary.
Tumblr media
The white and clear water in Paguriran Beach Resort just like in Subic Beach is a plus in this beautiful place. The view of the surrounding bay and the Bacon coastline will surely make your day complete. It was awesome, so revitalizing.
Tumblr media
This is the perfect place for relaxation, picnic, and hanging out with your friends and family, you will surely enjoy the beauty of this place and appreciate the nature.

Hidden Paradise of Malinao, Albay - Vera Falls
Vera falls is beautiful cascade with mini waterfalls coming out from the rocks on the side of the main falls. It was a highly recommended eco-tourism site in Albay found at the bottom of a narrow valley in Barangay Bulang of Malinao, Albay.
Tumblr media
I already experience the beauty of Vera Falls. I got there during our on-the-job training (OJT) because we are assigned at the LGU of Malinao. During our training our boss invited us to join their trip to Vera Falls, we quickly accept the invitation. Me as a nature lover was super excited, I can’t wait to see the magnificent beauty of the cascade. Since we’re already there in Malinao and the department has their own service it was easier for us to go to the location of the falls. It was a pleasant ride through the lustrous rice fields, coconut plantation with a view of the majestic Mayon Volcano in the distance.
Tumblr media
The trip was so smooth and we reached the location. We left the car at the empty parking area and eagerly traced the route down the concrete stairs. The walk from the parking area to the falls is just 10 to 15 minutes. There’s no need to bring money since there’s no entrance fee and there’s no cottages to be rent, just bring foods and refreshment as there’s no store near the falls.
Tumblr media
As we came closer to the base of the falls, the surging 25 meter cascades came into view that makes us so excited to come closer. The cascades flowed into small but inviting crystal blue lagoon edged by limestone walls. I really enjoyed our time there. I was amazed by its beauty, it was a bit shorter in height than Busay Falls but the cascade was stronger and it was more serene and pleasing. A trip to Vera Falls is really an awesome experience because of its awesome ambiance that everyone will surely love.

Busay Falls - a scenic cascade
Tumblr media
Busay Falls is a favorite gathering destination especially during summer; it is located inside the barrios of Malilipot, Albay. I just got there once when my grandmother’s friend from Manila returned here in Bicol for a vacation and invited us to join their trip, but I can say that it was an amazing experience.  We rented a car with a driver for us to get there easier since we don’t know where the place is.
It is located approximately 20km north of Legazpi City, about 20-minutes’ drive by car on smooth paved road. The turnout from the highway is well-marked. After the turnout, driving an additional 2km on mostly non-paved road is a short, but scenic drive through the barrios and rice fields.  While the roads after the turn-out are not paved, they are easily navigable. We parked the car about 100 meters from the falls, so it doesn’t require a lot of walking but navigating the rocky and slippery terrain that surrounds the pool requires effort. During that time we only paid 5 Php each for the entrance fee but I think now it’s already 10 Php, so affordable that everyone can afford.
Tumblr media
I was really amazed by its natural beauty, the water plunges approximately 91 meters from its highest point. However, what’s visible from the catch basin beneath the falls is only 41 meters. There are few cottages that you can rent, make sure to bring your own food and drinks since there is no store, but you can also purchase your foods and drink in the nearby barrio “sari-sari” stores on the way before the barrio of Busay Falls.
Although smaller in size compared to other falls but it was a bit taller than Vera Falls. The falls was really amazing, the sight and sound of splashing and cascading water is just so tranquil, so relaxing. It’s a nice place to spend your time with your friends and family where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

There were no stores, souvenir shops or lodging on this side of the island but water from a deep well and an improvised toilet used by the caretaker and his family were available for visitors to use.  There were also two makeshift cottages available for rent (P400), but if you’re on a tight budget, you could just lay a blanket under one of the trees and not spend a single dime for the rest of your stay since there was no entrance fee either.

Why am I passionate about Nature and Adventure?
As what John Muir said "climb the nature and get their good tidings. Nature's flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
Nature is a blessing that our almighty God gave us, thus we must protect it because once we ruined it we can never take it back. I am passionate about nature because I really love and appreciate its beauty. I love hanging out with my friends to the different places that really attract me like falls, beach, mountain, rivers, lake and other natural form of nature. It really makes me happy whenever I see the beauty of nature and it makes me excite every time that we go to the different places that I've never seen before. I treasure every moment of it and I never forget to have a picture of each places.
