Did anyone else watch Blue Eye Samurai and think of trans Runaan headcanons???
I feel like I relate to both Runaan and Mizu for very similar reasons: They are both autistic-coded queer characters, have traumatic life histories, dedicated to their mission, have legendary fighting skills, and can be single-minded / blinded by their vows. They also both have very sensitive / loving sides that they hide from everyone except those they trust most.
I always hoped for more to Runaan’s backstory and to understand more about his actions and thought-processes in s1 of tdp. But, since it’s unlikely at this point we will get much Runaan storyline (with only 2 seasons left to go), Blue Eye Samurai has provided some delicious headcanon material (while being entirely kickass in its own right).
Warning: Blue Eye Samurai is definitely 18+!

me watching as the dragon prince makes a character who code switches depending on his environment, doesn't like small talk, won't talk to people or smile at them if he doesn't want to, has an entire storyline of how everything in his life went wrong because his Plan went awry, cherishes a food which he says is "not the tastiest", has a #1 favourite person whose judgement he trusts as guidance when his perspective is too black and white, is headcanoned by the writers as not being able to understand jokes because he takes them too literally, has a pet, and wears gloves outside of his house even when he's not using his bow: they did it. they created autism
