A little doodle I did for Valentine's Day, of Fabrizio being pampered by his twins ♡ Can't wait to get to write his happy ending because he deserves it so much!

First design I ever made for a soldier of the cursed continent of Laurentia. This is the first bit I wrote about this place and the people who inhabit it:
Expand for Lore!
''Guard of Laurentia Freedom Keepers''
Inhabitant and soldier of the continent of Laurentia or Eastern America, land supposed to be uninhabitable for being the place thought to be ubication of a devastating war in the speculative mythology of the Third World, ridden with hazard and disease transmitted straight from its cursed soil. Laurentia was supposed to be partitioned between the leading nations that emerged victorious after this war ended after its terrain became healthy again, but as these nations broke down to forces of internal unrest, and the new smaller states fighting over who was the authentic successor of their past selves, the question of how Laurentia was going to be partitioned was becoming a scandalous. Yet, the place was still not ready to be habitable again, or at least that's what people thought until the start of the third millenia where illegal expeditions to the continent would come back, not sick and cursed with the endemic diseases as expected, but wounded and dead to real bullets. The world was outraged knowing that their promised land was already inhabited by people, armed and willing to defend their home from intruders. After a century, it's still little what outsiders know of these people in Laurentia. The power there doesn't move around states but warlords securing outposts and little cities with their armies, yet most of them share the same ideal of unearthing and deciphering the ideas that governed the past, making the scholars that are able to do this work the most respected caste. It is known that, despite their internal disagreements, the different factions will team up to meddle in the business of other countries, hoping for their dreams of revolution reching the horizons beyond their land. The people who Laurentia pretends to lend their support to are at least skeptical, and often not very welcoming of them for many differences and stigma. The people from Laurentia often appear with their faces and bodies affected by the disease known as the Curse of the Black Soil. Yet they somehow don't really seem affected beyond these physical manifestations, unlike the cases of Black Soil Curse outside of Laurentia that people fear as it's lethal with a couple of exceptions. As research in the scientific medical field advances, some experts have been expressing their desire to study this disease surrounded by so much mysticism.
A small edit I would only make here, is that instead of a century it would be almost three, the main story I am writing would take in a date these people recognize as 329X and the turn of century (It's hard to think about dates). For meta, this is obviously my attempt to make some kind of dieselpunk/trenchpunk magical soviet soldiers. They would be avid students of hegelian philosophy and would give it a very mystical-dark-magic-esoteric turn, sadly something I am not quite versed with so I am planning to someday immerse myself in it and get up to date so I can even get to read Zizek.

Here are the first designs for Fiamma and Fiorella respectively, twin sisters who grew apart for many reasons, most important one being their character and the way they dealt with the loss of their parents.
Expand for Lore!
Fiamma, rebellious and intrepid, in the meta for me is the perfect anarcho-futurist youth, with an insatiable will and affinity for all things violence, nationalism and whatever serves her spirit right. As she was still studying in highschool while her sister worked to support her, she joined a youth paramilitary organization mostly known for vigilantism, public disorder, and its nocturnal meetings in public spaces known for its drunken enthusiastic political debates. The most passionate kids from the group would often be offered scholarship and military training to graduate as an officer, and Fiamma was one of these lucky individuals who was picked to be part of this program. As she accepted, she left her sister without a word. She got a degree in mechanical engineering for her affinity with machinery, and soon also graduated from her training program as a Lieutenant, yet didnt serve for many years that she spent cheerfully in the streets, from hotel to hotel and her only belonging being her car and a bunch of clothes. Despite this seemingly risky lifestyle, Fiamma was living her best, winning her money in street races and having a great support web from being well-known and well-liked by her peers who would give her shelter when she needed. She would be soon called to serve, and her enthusiasm for the life in the battleground would soon disappoint her in many ways, but making her mature
Fiorella is the total opposite of Fiamma, being kind, passive and ready to help anyone who needs it. When her mother fell ill, she got to work instantly, travelling to the countryside and spending upon three weeks a month there doing manual labor. There, she got to know the faith of the locals, mesmerized by their humble places of worship and philosophy of life, something non-existant in the city where she came from. This affinity with the countryside made her secretly delve in the obscure revolutionary ideology coming from the continent of Laurentia, the one her country was fighting off, yet she decided to not give in these thoughts much, as her mind was set on supporting her only family left when her mother passed away. But when Fiamma left her, being all alone and at the brink of despair, she finally gave in and joined a terrorist group who would perpetuate petty attacks against goverment buildings and politicians with no cause whatsoever but pure disillusion with the state of things. Yet, after the members of the group matured and simply lost the will to destroy, they decided to become a small art and political collective trying to reach others with their words and crafts instead of shocking actions. Fiamma became a passionate journalist and found her faith again.
Fiorella, despite everything, still has the hope of reconnecting with her sister again, and this journey would start after her father finds her and begs for forgiveness for his absence all these years. Fiorella, shaken by this, accepts him back into her life with one condition, that he helps her find Fiamma and take her back, something her father already was keen on doing from the start.

Starting off with the reference sheet for my most beloved protagonist Fabrizio Simeoni, though this being his first design I changed many things about the uniforms and ranks of the army of Holy Currents and probably will keep changing many things as I keep studying the organization of the armies that inspire this little project the most. Yet his story still remains the same, he's passionate about prose, his life fazed after becoming victim of his vices, living in excruciating solace after years of being apart of his family, his soul hardening after years in the battlefield, finding a soft spot in it after a shaky relationship and deciding to give up his career to get his family back again.
