I think it's footage of the Knave, who Hook hasn't met in Storybrooke yet, stealing shiz from Rumplegold's Lil' Shop of Horrors and offers him the hand to get the MacGuffin back. Why Hook's there in the first place is beyond me though because even though they agreed to stop trying to kill each other, if I was Hook, I'd hate on Rumple forevah * INFINITY.
What do you think of the VHS Rumple is holding? Is part of the deal forcing Hook to watch Peter Pan? I can't think of anything Rumple could have video of that he could use against Hook. But what if he has video showing how the SQ knows Emma?
I have no idea. tbh. But I don’t think it’s what Rumple is using against Hook, more like it could be what Hook gives Rumple to make the deal for his hand back.
At first I thought it could be the undoctored recording of Rumple killing Zelena, but Charming said they use Betamax at the station and that is clearly a VHS tape. (Unless they give no fucks about matching those details, I mean, it’s not like many people today even know the difference between the two kinds of tapes anyway).
If it is this, I’d also be VERY surprised that Hook would just hand it over to Rumple and keep that secret from the Charmings. It doesn’t ring true to his character growth to me, no matter how much he wants his hand back. He’s never been anything but honest with Emma, and this would be a pretty big secret to discover and then not tell her.
And I doubt Rumple would reveal his connection to the SQ to anyone yet, let alone Hook of all people.
So I’m back to having no fucking clue.
