I love how much ppl hate Deepnest because I find it so calming somehow. Like wow...nice ambiance. Pretty glowy mushrooms. And look at all these darling little creatures. This one's wearing a red cloak like Hornet! Garpedes are so cool...wonder where they're going. I'm gonna pet a Stalking Devout

Update: he is okay and resting at home! He now has to be on anticonvulsants for the rest of his life 😞

Weekly Update: Aurora's New Intro
Hello my lovely readers!
My progress briefly stagnated for an unpleasant reason: I had to spend the last week figuring out taxes. I’ll spare you the boring details of that, but it took a rather long time to get everything in order.
However, I was not completely unproductive! I have finished writing the intro to my latest rewrite of Aurora, and I’m quite proud of it. I can’t wait to have it posted in full for all of you.

I approached the Dean’s office like a criminal to the gallows.
My experiences with the Dean were dismal at best and terrifying at worst, and despite my grades and my work ethic, I didn't expect this meeting to go any better. I clutched my book bag like a shield, prepared to block myself from her sharp words intended to puncture my soul and destroy my will to study.
When I entered her office, she simply motioned with a pale wrinkled hand for me to sit. She didn't even look at me. I wanted to believe it was because she was busy, but I knew better.
We sat in silence for a while. I fidgeted with the straps of my bag. The Dean licked her thumb and flipped through pages of parchment. Though she wore her reading glasses, her eyes did not move behind the lenses—she wasn't even reading what the papers said.
“Miss Elora,” she said at last.
