‭Ecclésiaste 12:1, 6-7, 13-14 PDV2017‬

[1] Pendant que tu es jeune, souviens-toi de ton Créateur. Souviens-toi de lui avant l’arrivée des jours mauvais , avant le moment où tu diras : « Je n’ai plus envie de vivre. »

[6] Alors le fil d’argent se détache, la coupe d’or se brise, la jarre pleine d’eau se casse, la corde du puits se détache. [7] La poussière retourne à la terre d’où elle vient, le souffle de vie retourne à Dieu qui l’a donné.

[13] Voici la conclusion de tout ce qui a été dit : respecte Dieu et obéis à ses commandements. Oui, voilà ce que tous les êtres humains doivent faire. [14] En effet, Dieu jugera tout ce que nous avons fait, même nos actions cachées, bonnes ou mauvaises.

[6] Yes, remember your Creator now while you are young, before the silver cord of life snaps and the golden bowl is broken. Don’t wait until the water jar is smashed at the spring and the pulley is broken at the well. [7] For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

[13] That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. [14] God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.

[5] Comment un enfant est-il formé dans le ventre de sa mère et d’où vient le souffle de vie ? Tu n’en sais rien. De même, tu ne peux pas connaître comment Dieu agit, lui qui fait toutes choses. [6] C’est pourquoi sème tes graines dès le matin, n’arrête pas de travailler jusqu’au soir. En effet, quelle activité va réussir ? Celle-ci ou celle-là ? Tu l’ignores. Elles sont peut-être bonnes toutes les deux.

[5] As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. [6] Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.

[8] Celui qui creuse un trou risque de tomber dedans, celui qui démolit un mur peut se faire mordre par un serpent.

[10] Si le fer d’une hache ne coupe plus, et si on ne l’aiguise pas, il faut deux fois plus de force pour frapper. La sagesse a l’avantage de faire réussir les choses.

[19] Pour s’amuser, les riches font de bons repas. Le vin réjouit leur vie, et l’argent permet tout.

[8] He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.

[10] If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

[19] A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.

[2] The same destiny ultimately awaits everyone, whether righteous or wicked, good or bad, ceremonially clean or unclean, religious or irreligious. Good people receive the same treatment as sinners, and people who make promises to God are treated like people who don’t.

[7] So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this! [8] Wear fine clothes, with a splash of cologne!

‭Ecclésiaste 8:14-15 PDV2017‬

[14] Pourtant voici encore une situation sur la terre qui n’a pas de sens : certains agissent bien, et ils sont traités comme ceux qui agissent mal. D’autres agissent mal, et ils sont traités comme ceux qui agissent bien. Je le dis encore : cela non plus n’a pas de sens. [15] Moi, je chante la louange de la joie. En effet, pour les humains, le seul bonheur sous le soleil, c’est de manger, de boire, de profiter de la vie. Voilà ce qui doit accompagner leur travail pendant les jours que Dieu leur donne à vivre sous le soleil.

[14] And this is not all that is meaningless in our world. In this life, good people are often treated as though they were wicked, and wicked people are often treated as though they were good. This is so meaningless! [15] So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun.

[3] Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

[20] For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

[29] This only have I found: God created mankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes.”

‭Ecclésiaste 6:1-2 PDV2017‬

[1] J’ai vu encore un malheur sous le soleil, un grand malheur pour les humains. [2] Voici une personne à qui Dieu donne la richesse, des biens et l’honneur. Elle possède tout ce qu’elle peut désirer. Mais Dieu ne la laisse pas profiter de ses biens, c’est quelqu’un d’autre qui en profite. Cette situation n’a pas de sens, elle est injuste et elle fait souffrir.

‭Ecclesiastes 6:1-2 NLT‬

[1] There is another serious tragedy I have seen under the sun, and it weighs heavily on humanity. [2] God gives some people great wealth and honor and everything they could ever want, but then he doesn’t give them the chance to enjoy these things. They die, and someone else, even a stranger, ends up enjoying their wealth! This is meaningless—a sickening tragedy.

‭Ecclésiaste 5:13, 15 PDV2017‬

[13] Cette richesse disparaît dans une mauvaise affaire. Et quand il met au monde un fils, il n’a plus rien dans les mains.

[15] C’est un grand malheur pour lui : il doit quitter le monde comme il est arrivé. Qu’est-ce qu’il a gagné ? Il a travaillé pour rien du tout.

[13] There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.

[15] As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.

‭Ecclésiaste 4:9-10, 12 PDV2017‬

[9] Deux hommes associés valent mieux qu’un seul. À deux, ils obtiennent un meilleur résultat pour leur travail. [10] Si l’un des deux tombe, l’autre le relève. Au contraire, celui qui est seul, est bien malheureux. S’il tombe, il n’y a personne pour le relever.

[12] On peut attaquer facilement celui qui est seul, mais deux personnes peuvent résister. Une corde tressée de plusieurs fils ne casse pas facilement.

[9] Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. [10] For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

[12] And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

[1] Dans ce monde, il y a un temps pour tout et un moment pour chaque chose :

[4] Il y a un temps pour pleurer et un temps pour rire, un temps pour les chants de deuil et un temps pour les danses joyeuses.

[17] Je me suis dit alors : « Dieu jugera celui qui agit bien et celui qui agit mal. En effet, il y a un temps pour tout, et il jugera chacune de nos actions.
