listening to lord huron while traipsing around cape disappointment seems fitting because there’s places like beard’s hollow and dead man’s cove where people drowned after being shipwrecked, the lighthouse is purportedly haunted by the original keeper and his wife, and the way the trees seem to close in behind you when you wander the trails gives a definite sense of unease mingled with excitement

Demons are evil entities featured in mythology and religion throughout the world. Often viewed as evil spirits, their appearances, behaviours, origins and functions vary wildly, but a universal constant is their propensity for evil.
The most common view of demons comes from Christianity, where they are generally said to be either the corrupted spirits of sinners or angels who sided with Lucifer during his rebellion and were cast out by the archangel Michael.
In Eastern beliefs, evil spirits are known by differing names and have different characteristics. Among these are the djinn and the daeva. Related beings include asuras and Rakshasas.
Many other cultures also have creatures that are broadly described as “demons,” though they do not fit the traditional idea of evil spirits. Examples of this include the Japanese oni and the Chinese mogwai.
Demons were often written about in esoteric and occult texts known as grimoires. Many of the modern views on demons were informed by these books, including the Ars Goetia and the Dictionnaire Infernal.
