*Maren said with a distant look.*
”… as if I’d just blindly trust some stranger.. but, you’ve helped me out so far, and you promised me so.. I’ll trust you. Just a bit.”
*Xe softly said as his eyes began to droop, and his posture began to relax. However, xe still bat Doug’s hand away when it came into contact with his head, shooting him an apologetic stare afterwards*
“I’ll have to say no to physical contact.. I’m sorry.”
*He kept making small shapes out of water, but the most noticeable was a small fox. Xe clearly struggled a bit with that one, and decided to call it a day, or.. however long it’d been, with his magic use. At least, until xe could get back to them*

“Ah.. I’m sorry that you had to deal with them.”
*She continued to rub small, cold circles into his back. That was what Meriu always did for them when she was upset, so it’s gotta help! ..right?*
”Ma- I mean, Xynapi, used to take on hordes of Blories with Papa.. so maybe that fighting strength passed onto me? It did with Cirius!”
*They exclaimed before taking in what he just said. “I don’t want to lose you”, such simple words, wanting to protect someone, but with such a weighted meaning that it almost hurts. She wanted to protect him, to help him feel safe, the same way their older brother and father took care of her when mom was too harsh on her during training, and they would cry and cry until she fell asleep. But if that meant being away from him for a while… then so be it.*
“.. I understand now. I’ll go with someone else for a bit, but I want you to- No.. I need you to promise me this. I need you to come back alive to me! Please, please, don’t abandon me. Don’t die on me! That’s.. not allowed! As the Princess of Deimonous, I order you to return to me alive.”
*She yelled at him, a desperate look in her eyes. As long as he could promise them this, she would drop the topic, and go with someone who was willing to watch them for a while. Just until Snare came back. Quinn looked like she was about to cry, honestly*

He gave them a tentative lil smile. Partial success! He’s just glad they’re not as nervous now.
He cringed back a bit with an apologetic look on his face. “A-ah- right-” Dammit he’s so stupid- do not the child you absolute fool. Fuck. “Don’t have to apologize, that’s perfectly reasonable.”
He settled back into the ambiguous quiet, watching them create their constructs in peace.
But eventually, they called it quits, and the silence threatened to become awkward again. “So… you got a goal? I might know something useful for ya, hopefully.”

He took in another shuddering breath, swallowing down the tears that threatened to rise. He pulled away just enough to look her in the eyes. “I promise you that I will come back.” His voice was even-toned, holding an underlying strength that promised absolute sincerity. He would come back, the partygoers couldn’t keep him down for long. He would get in, get Skylar, and get the fuck back to Quinn as fast as he possibly could.

I thought people usually do that? Though for the questions..that’s a good question. You could ask him things related to family and friends, partner and children, job, the things he usually does, things related to the mask, if you can see his face, what he is, if he can be a creature of your choice, favorite colors, anything really. We could try to show you how he looks like from the time other people could see him without the mask if you want
