another swap au design whooo i still cant draw sir Pentious and I ain't letting that stop me

This swap was decided by y'all in this poll and I'm gonna be honest when I put it as an option I had no idea how I was gonna make it work and honestly I still only have like half an idea but that ain't stopping me. In my role swap au I usually try to keep their backstories and personalities as similar to canon as possible while tweaking just enough to make their new role in the store make sense for these two I found that that approach just wasn't feasible. So in this Au Sir Pentious was created as an angel and has lived his entire life in heaven he still has some minor trust issues mostly because even before the heavens meeting where he learns about the extermination he notices some things not adding up but questioning heaven is not something he would do as such those questions and suspicions are left festering under the surface which might lead to his fall in the future :) I leaned a lot more into the "flaming snake" depiction of a seraphim along with giving him wings becouse the boy deserves wings. Emily on the other hand is a regular sinner dieing in the late 19th century like sir Pentious and being an inventor like him. Like her canon counterpart I think Emily is still good natured and goofy getting sent to hell because while she genuinely wanted to help people her ignorance and naivety led to a lot of her inventions hurting and even killing people. She wants to become a strong overlord so she can transform the place for her idea of the better not noticing how her methods are hurting people and further cementing her place down there. Her redemption would be mostly about her connecting with the residents of the hotel learning their stories and realising how wrong her perception of hell and the greater good was. She would also play into Vaggies ark of learning to open up and trust others along with learning to actually help the citizens of help become better people instead of forcing them into strict moulds she believes to be the best for them due to her preception of hell as former angel. I actually had a lot of fun with Emily's design and while i'm still not feeling so great (why I didn't sketch out any scenes with these two goofballs I will do so when I have the energy) I'm doing a lot better and will probably be back soon. I have also been thinking about turning my swap au into a comic what do y'all think?

I decided to give this au of him a rifle as a primary weapon since his power is sealed by his deal with Vox. Also I'm a bit sick atm so I won't be very active for a bit since screens are giving me a headache so sorry for that.

Glitch and Gooseworx are right about one thing.. these characters were on screen for less than two seconds but I will be starting a shipping war over them :)

OK so as some of you may know I'm currently doing a role!swap au for Hazbin hotel (if you wanna check it out here) The thing is I have been struggling with deciding who to swap Sir Pentious with. Atm I am seeing two options and I have decided to let y'all choose because I honestly can't. 1.Swap with Emily: this could work the problem is that i try to keep their personalities as close to canon as possible just changing their circumstances and how I feel they would affect their personality, which would be tricky with Emily's character seeing as she is basically heavens Charlie. Though now that I think about it, it could work well for Swap!Vaggie . Not a hundret percent sure on that. 2. don't swap him with anyone: just leaving the snake boii as the one unswaped character. Personally I think this would be funny but also I would feel a bit bad for my boii. I don't wanna exclude him from the fun. Secret third option (not serious just if you wanna see the results without voting): swap him with Adam: my best friend suggested this. I have no idea how it would work I have no idea if it would even work with the way I have structured this au so far but I think it’s hilarious and I wanna share it with y'all

Another swap au WOooooo. This time it's the two best girls  Rosie and Cherri bomb.

Here's the thing, the only thing that's changed is that Cherris is an overlord and Rosie isn't so this one is gonna be pretty short and I'm gonna talk a bit more about the design choices I made. Cheri rules over an industrial district specialising in explosives and on the side some weapons and drugs she and Angel dust have an agreement where she is the one to actually create a lot of the supply of drugs that his mob sells and he focuses on advertisement and distribution. I tried keeping her half and half design in this au while making her look more put together and professional since she is an overlord and that means at least somewhat keeping up appearances. Rosie on the other hand isn’t an overlord, she still has cannibal town but it's a very small but slowly expanding I imagine it in this au as the early days of cannibal town with her creating it only a decade or two ago. She is still mostly the same but due to the cannibal town being an up and coming thing she has to fight to defend her territory more often as such I gave her a shorter skirt and pants while trying to keep her silhouette similar ish. Also yes she fights using her umbrella no I will not be elaborating :) 1 2 3 4 5

since I have been mostly doing quick sketches and redesigns lately i decided to try to screw around with perspective and some new brushes I downloaded so here's a semi finished sketch of my swap au Vaggie

Another swap au whoooo. This one is partially inspired by @phenphoenix swap au (go check it out its amazing) mostly because he nailed almost exactly what I wanted this swap au husk and niffty to be like and I like the names he came up with.

(Huskers wings are the same same goes for his tail I just.. really didn't want to draw them) Anyhow in this universe niffty was the overlord i have no idea of what i tried coming up with something but couldn’t so if you have any ideas tell me please its driving me insane unfortunately for her she is still nifty and she let her obsessive tendencies get the best of her leading to her making some horrible calls that resulted in her being backed into a corner and making a deal with angel to preserve her power. Husk on the other hand still got backed into a corner due to his gambling habit but in this au he wasn't an overlord and the reason he made a deal with angel was because he owed money to his mafia due to it. He actually feels like his life has improve massively since making that deal and as such does not regret it at all Their personalities are mostly the same, just nifty being depressed and husker not being. I imagine niffty in this au is being very obsessive and in need of controlling everything in regards to that obsession while husker is much more caring and compassionate. Plus I love the idea of Husker having more feline tendencies such as him randomly dropping everything and chasing a mouse as this aus version of nifty roach obsession.

But their relationships with certain characters are very different, husker and angel are pretty close. He is grateful to Angel since as I stated before he is treated pretty well by him but while they are kind of friends their relationship never developed further due to the distance that one party straight up owning the other's soul put between them. For huskerdust to happen in this au angel would have to voluntarily give up husks soul which i dont think would happen in the near future. Niffty on the other hand is a bit resentful but mostly indifferent about angel a “could have been worse” attitude what i wanna talk about is her relationship with Alastor. She quickly becomes a good friend of his and while she is annoyed at him never fully acting like himself always wearing that smile (which she recognizes as a desperate bid for controle) their friendship doesn't have as rocky of a start as husk and angel dust in canon. But she still eventually has enough and calls out his bs in a similar manner to huskies “everyone loves to bitch to the bartender” spiel. In her case though the reason she knows so much is that people straight up forget she is there. Mostly because I think it's a lot more fitting for her plus I think it's funny. I am probably gonna draw the whole scene of her psychoanalyzing everyone once i decide who the fuck im swapping Sir pentious with becouse atm i have no idea.

I've come to realize that I have the exact opposite of same face syndrome. Everytime I draw a face it looks like a completely different person or, at the very best, the characters three times removed estranged cousin and it's slowly driving me insane

ANOTHER SWAP HAZBIN DESIGN SKETCHES WOOO! This time it's Angel dust and Alastor.

As for the lore, Alastor died in the 50s in this au and Vox was already an established overlord at the time of his death. Al still appeared in hell with enough power to topple overlords but because he had no idea how hell operated or even how his own power worked he got tricked into a deal with Vox in order to be able to have his radio show again. He is an actor/radio host in this universe and due to his contract with Vox his power is almost entirely sealed away meaning that no one except Vox is aware of the fact that Alastor is op(including al). He becomes a guest at the hotel both because he still enjoys watching others fail and to have a place to get away from Vox

Angeldust on the other hand died earlier and stayed in the family business (cough cough the mob) overthrowing his father and becoming an overlord. His organisation deals mostly in drugs and while he still does porn on the side he owns his own company rivalling Valentinos. He claims to support the hotel mostly out of boredom but he has some ulterior motives I will get into later :)

Their personalities are still mostly the same but thanks to Alastor being under contract with Vox thus unable to go on his rampage and not knowing he is in fact one of the most dangerous people in the room he is a lot less sadistic and egotistical he is also able to empathise with others a lot more easily. His need for control is still there(his smile and all that) and it's only made worse by the contract with him trying to control everything he feels he can in order to deal with the lack of it that comes with someone else owning his soul. Angel dust is a lot more egotistical and overconfident with his status as an overlord granting him way more power and freedom than he has in canon, still putting on an overly sexual mask this time not because he has to but because he wants people to underestimate him he is also a lot more sarcastic and outright mean

I have also decided this au will be called the Angel hotel as both a play on Vaggie being the protagonist with her being an angel, angel renaming the hotel after himself (angel dust is the mob nickname he was given because I said so) and them trying to turn sinners into angels by redeeming them and all that.

(And yes Alastors name is literally just short for Radio because Vox named him and I'm going by the headcanon that Vox named himself Vox as short for Video bOX). 1 2 3 4 5

Ok so Hazbin hotel has a bit of a choke hold on my brain at the moment so I decided to try my hand at a swap au of it! Let's start with a sketch of the first swapped characters, Charlie and Vaggie.

Their backstory is basically the same with Vaggie getting kicked out of heaven for sparing a child during the extermination and Charlie helping her after she got her eye clawed out and wings chopped off. Where it diverges is the fact that at this point Charlie has given up on her idea of redeeming sinners and instead decided to try to understand her people better, living among them learning to fight and hiding the fact she is the princess. Vaggie is the one to come up with the idea of a hotel to rehabilitate sinners partially because the kindest person she met is in hell and that doesn’t seem just and partially to convince herself that she did not get kicked out of literal heaven for no reason and these people are worth fighting for. She is very upfront about the fact she used to be an exorcist and uses it as a way to make people think she knows what she is doing (spoiler alert she does not) Charlie doesn't hundred percent believe that sinners can be redeemed but she wants to be there and support her girlfriend no matter what. Vaggie also has a bit of resentment towards the morning star family due to the fact that at this point she believes that they didn't oppose the exterminations mostly for the delicious angst of the Charlie is a princess reveal.

They still have mostly the same personality but Vaggie is a lot more hopeful and ambitious with Charlie a lot calmer and realistic, Vaggie still has some major trust issues and her ark would probably be about overcoming them along with her deep seeded anger at getting kicked out of heaven. And Charlie is still empathetic and trusting to a fault despite not being nearly as naive. (I'm probably gonna work on the design for Vaggie more and add a lot more details to Charlies one but for now I'm semi happy with them) 1 2 3 4 5

OK now I want to include some lore about the fact that monocultural forests and crop fields are more likely to attract people eating monsters from their realm in one of the story I'm writing since that could lead to some very interesting worldbuilding and story scenarios.

Wheat fields are more mystical than fields of other crops. You are 7,000 times more likely to meet an old god or see a portent of doom in a wheat field than in a field of like… soybeans.
