OKAY, I just uncovered a brand new lead a few minutes ago when I decided to re-inspect the neighborhood.
From what I could gather..the neighborhood is called "Maplewood Avenue" the words on the sign were all chipped, maybe that's why I didn't even notice it when I came here but I could make it out now. And the rest of the houses were trashed but some were still in tact both on the outside and inside, a few of them even looked fit to live in! I even found some food left behind in the fridges in a few of them, but surprise surprise it was all rotten. Then I saw this poster that was taped to one of the house's trees in the front yard:
Tumblr media
Had to recreate the picture using a template app though, so you guys could see it more clearly since the original picture was almost covered in dirt and mud.
From what it looks like this poster was from 10 years ago but as of right now it's the only thing I've got working for me at the moment. I'll make a list in each of my posts to keep track of any evidence I come across, just in case I forget it down the road.
Current Evidence:
Empty neighborhood/houses (Obviously)
Foul smelling house (Don't know what the address number is as it's missing on the front of the house just like the others, which I found during my second search)
Missing persons poster of Anya Pellegrini (10 year gap, could there be more posters around??)
That's currently all I've got for now as it's about to be dark soon, and I do NOT want to be stuck out here during nightfall, this place is already eerie enough as it is during the day, so I'll sleep in my car.
Post tomorrow when I can.

Alright, just drove into town about an hour ago and it's obviously clear that it's a ghost town already. The town itself was established back in 1967 on a sign I was gazing at on my way driving up here. This is the first picture I took on my phone upon my entry:

Not mention it's fucking freezing here even with my parka on, anyway, I went to knock on a couple of doors just so I could prove myself wrong about the whole "ghost town" comment thing, but there's literally nobody in any of these houses. Some of them though were either locked or left open.
The first house I stumbled across was strangely very nice on the outside. Turquoise paint, white terracotta on the windows, a swinging bench on the porch with Christmas lights strung on the deck. It would've looked almost friendly and inviting except the inside of it was completely trashed, almost cut my leg on a rusted nail that was just randomly sticking out of the wall in the kitchen earlier.
And there weren't any Christmas decorations in any of the rooms at least from what I could tell. The bathroom door was locked, the living room was infested with cockroaches from top to bottom.

But the bedroom is the worst part of the house though, it smelled rancid unlike the rest of the place which was weird on it's own. I couldn't make out the smell but if I had to, it'd be like a mixture of rotting wood with some other strange undertone I can't quite place but it smelled like...pee?
Felt like I was gonna gag so I had to leave that house as soon as I could. So now I'm just walking around outside to catch my breath, I didn't even want to check the rest of the neighborhood if all the houses here were just gonna wind up smelling like that.
But if I was ever going to get some new evidence then I'd need to be thorough. So I'll put this house in the back of my mind for later, and do a re-inspection.

Hello, my name is Emily Harper, I'm a 26 year old freelance detective from Appalachia, I'm currently investigating a cold case that took place in a large town in Whitehurst county in Oregon in the blue mountains back in December of 0'4 named the "200,000 phenomena". Apparently from the rumors that I've seen online the people in Whitehurst, who had a population of 200,000 all had gone missing for a 24 hour period but never showed up again although now it's just turned into an Internet horror story. Currently this is the only information I have but it's definitely something I can work with! Maybe I'll be the one who actually figures out what really happened all those years ago.
I'll try to update this account frequently or whenever something interesting turns up, see you guys soon!
