Coming soon on Three Books One Plot: Episode Thirty - New year, New Moon! Artist and known Jacob Enjoyer Winni returns to help G and Shannon tackle New Moon chapters 11-12. Misunderstandings abound in this Werewolf Wednesday special about girl gang fashion, DILF fights, and bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase “Jacobean drama.”
Certified New Moon stan M returns to join G and Shannon for chapter 9! Things are heating up in Forks—literally. They’ve all got fevers. Who will hold hands and who will blow chunks on the world’s most awkward three-person movie date? Also discussed: son-zoning, the great Australian Conversation Heart Shortage, and the silliest New Moon outtake yet!
Thanks again to @gashousegables for coming back for season 2! ❤️🍏🐺

I’m increasingly worried by all the people on my dash calling themselves insane for loving stories in the way humans have loved stories our whole history. “The brain rot is spreading” — you mean you were changed by art? “I’m not normal about this” — you were moved by it? You felt human emotions about it? “I’m about to be so annoying” — you’re going to talk about art? You’re going to be passionate? You’re going to think deeply about it? You’re going to feel love for the work of someone’s soul? You are not a consumer and art is not a product to be casually used! You are a human and stories are the beating heart of our humanity! You must feel everything and you must know that it is normal!
Hear me out - Euphoria and Burden or switched as Burden and Euphoria (I stand this works better as it reflects the story timeline better, starts with heartache ends with happiness)
I wanted to use a "B" word for the 'something else' so the words are E & B for Edythe and Beau.
I also think Burden works well because Beau/Bella holds the burden of a broken heart for the majority of this book, (and in the words of Diana Whynne Jone's character Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle "A heart's a heavy burden").
Beau/Bella hold the burden of their heartbreak from Edythe/Edward leaving even through their developing relationship with Julie/Jacob. The burden is undying and is only relieved with the Euphoria - happiness of saving Edythe/Edward and being with them once again.
Three Books One Plot is a Twilight podcast with a twist: we simultaneously read Life and Death and Midnight Sun! This season: watch us boldly go where Stephenie Meyer feared to tread as we continue Life and Death and Midnight Sun into the New Moon era. If you can’t read it, write it! More info here.
“Bella was good. All the other things added up to that whole—kind and self-effacing and unselfish and loving and brave—she was good through and through.”
Left and Leaving by The Weakerthans. The different versus almost go back and forth between what Bella and Edward are going through in New Moon. I think it's such a great fit for New Moon.
Left and Leaving by The Weakerthans:
My city's still breathing, but barely, it's true
Through buildings gone missing like teeth
The sidewalks are watching me think about you
Sparkled with broken glass
I'm back with scars to show
Back with the streets I know
Will never take me anywhere but here
The stain in the carpet, this drink in my hand
The strangers whose faces I know
We meet here for our dress rehearsal to say
I wanted it this way
Wait for the year to drown
Spring forward, fall back down
I'm trying not to wonder where you are
All this time
Lingers, undefined
Someone choose
Who's left and who's leaving
Memory will rust and erode into lists
Of all that you gave me
A blanket, some matches, this pain in my chest
The best parts of lonely
Duct-tape and soldered wires
New words for old desires
And every birthday card I threw away
I wait in 4/4 time
Count yellow highway lines
That you're relying on to lead you home
That you're relying on to lead you home
That you're relying on to lead you home
