I hope there will be bands who during their performances tomorrow at Sick New World festival will mention Palestine in some way, calling for a ceasefire, saying "Free Palestine", expressing solidarity towards the students recently protesting the genocide who were attacked by the police, no matter how many zionists and "keep politics out of music" folks they will piss off, now it's not the time to be silent and these public events are the perfect place to make sure your voice gets heard. Hope they'll be inspired and follow the example of brave celebrities like Annie Lennox, Ghali, Jonathan Glazer and Renee Rapp who all spoke up and called to stop the genocide at public events not to mention the artists who did it it at their own concerts like Mackelmore, Sza, Victoria Monet and Mitski. I'm losing faith in the metal scene every day despite it being one my fav genres because of the silence of most of the scene on this issue and in some cases even outright support for this genocide, and I know I shouldn't be generalizing beacuse there are a lot of bands and artists who aren't bigots and who have showed in some way that they support Palestine but the fact that there are influential people in the scene like the frontman of Disturbed (who I'm proudly blocked by on Twitter for shit talking about him, lol) who constantly post zionist bullshit on social media and still get ton of support afterwards by the public, no organized boycotts like for K-pop and nobody alse in the scene calling him out for it and putting him in his place really makes me want to leave the community, the punk scene and community for example has been much better at handling these issues in my opinion, most bands and artists (at least between the ones I listen to) have made clear that they support Palestine 100% and have 0 tolerance towards zionists, there have been bands like Sleaford Mods and Rise Against who have been shown to be cowards but almost everyone called them out.

I mean I'm not surprised the metal scene still supports and defends Marilyn Manson and is trying to rehabilitate his image, abuse is not a dealbreaker for certain people, so I'm not surprised that they act similarly in sight of people supporting genocide.

Maybe she would have been a doctor, or a farmer, or a engineer.
