i appreciate the attempts a lot of game devs are making with gender neutral character creation, and i appreciate that it's actually a very difficult task to implement that depending on the game's base code. but it's so funny to me when you hear an uproar because some game has "entirely removed the gender option from character creation!!!!!" so you go to check it out and its just like

they should make a minecraft smp series where they start off larping as a merchant that only speaks one language
hot take most viossalikes are bad cause they arent like given like a task to do using that language and everyones a linguist. so they just come up with ways to make words as quickly as possible and come up with a consensus and move on and not use that word. they gotta have a task
so heres what im proposing. a minecraft server. regular time u log on, can only speak that language. maybe turn off game text somehow lol or set to ur local language

ok heres my critiques of viossa-likes, in no particular order and incomplete:
everyones a linguist. they all know what theyre doing. they agree on pronouns the first day, who does that. it's just collaborative conlanging
they're so eager to have more words than actually use the language itself and let it develop words naturally, so they start taking notes the first day. theyre so eager to have a full language by the end of the week
they all speak like a common language (usually english) and are trying hard to not use it, no desperation of communication at all in real life everyone wouldve just spoken english or smth and that wouldve been the common language. no escaping this tho cause you gotta start somewhere and how are you organize it without a common language in the first place
