SO: Of course. And anything, as long as we're attached at the hip. I miss you dearly.

When I say "I am a Christian" by Carl Wimmer

When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I am saved" I'm whispering "I get lost!" "That is why I chose this way." When I say..."I am a Christian" don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need someone to be my guide. When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and pray for strength to carry on. When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and cannot ever pay the debt. When I say..."I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, my flaws are too visible but God believes I'm worth it. When I say..."I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain I have my share of heartaches which is why I seek His name. When I say..."I am a Christian" I do not wish to judge. I have no authority. I only know I'm loved.

It has been many years since I've communed with God. I had been a wandering black sheep until He shepherded me back. "He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul." This poem captures a lot of why I choose to be Christian.

Every day is a another opportunity to make things better, to make things right again.

And I won't give up either. When your thoughts and actions come from a place of compassion and a wise love, you cannot regret anything. It's not about sacrifice, emptying, or giving beyond your means, but learning to be gentle with yourself and others.

Eat, Pray, Love

I gravitated towards this book like a teenage girl to Chicken Soup for the Broken-hearted/Yogi/Soul-searchers. There's a familiar theme in these types of books that echoed a sermon I heard a couple of weeks ago: "We must labour for rest." Although it was something I had discovered myself, I never managed to put it so succinctly and so eloquently.

Monday night was tough. We were walking downtown and we passed a few artificial waterfalls. For whatever reason, the sound of water always calms me down. In difficult times I find solace by listening to the ocean. It reminds me that we're small, that there's room to change, that there are so many possibilities out there, and there are times when you just sit, breathe, and listen. So for now, I choose to remain still and listen to the deep inner whispers of my heart. This is tougher than it sounds.

...This is precisely the reason why I'm on relationship forums.

The rocks in my life are good friends who offer me calm and sobering advice. They remind me that I should be more gracious, patient, and understanding even when it hurts simply because it's the right and responsible thing to do. It is during these trying times I'm challenged to wise-up, grow, and mature.

Should sketch a little. Daydream a little.

Dinner with the SO tonight. He texts "My body is ready to be pesto-ed!" Whether we're staying in or traveling about, we always have a great time together. I feel so incredibly blessed.
