Josh’s coming out post isn’t a time to say “I told you so” or “I’ve known forever”. Just support him.

Eight years. Josh and his partner have been hiding for eight years whilst Josh has had to endure rumour after rumour of his sexuality and his love life whilst receiving homophobic backlash for his stage suits. For eight years Josh has been hiding a key feature of his identity.

I am so proud of him. To come out is in itself a terrifying experience - but to do it in the public eye, in the world of rock music, after enduring speculation for EIGHT YEARS?? that takes guts. I hope he knows how much this will mean to thousands of queer kids that identify with their music. I hope he knows how much light he brings into the world.

Love will conquer all. Thank you Josh.

Guys this is huge. He trusted us enough with deeply personal and private information, and managed to do that while putting all the emphasis on demanding change. Even when the issue directly effects him, he speaks about it through the lens of helping others.

This is also your reminder to vote and change what you can when you can. Anti LGBT legislation affects your friends, family members, and partners more than you can ever understand. If you are personally effected by these laws, then I don’t have to explain that pain to you. Do something to help and support whenever and wherever you can. Happy pride.

i don't even know what to say but it really just makes me happy to know that this whole time josh has had a warm, tender love like he deserves. that he has a partner who loves him and cherishes the light and joy he gives so freely. josh deserves love like that.
