I'm not ~Same Gender Attracted~, I'm a Giant Fuckin' Queermo.
Radically inclusive. Read my /about before putting your disk horse on my posts, and if you're gonna call something "ahistorical" make sure you've done your research. I swear a lot.
Man, I thought we were done with talking about the "gay lifestyle" as a problem back in the 90s. This is some retro bullshit.
I really, really thought that the generation younger than me would not have to deal with this bullshit. "Oh, it's not discrimination to say that we just don't want to hear about his lifestyle. If we invite a gay person to speak to our kids, of course he's going to only talk about his gayness, and since gayness = perversity and sex, well... "
This is what us Old People have been warning y'all is coming, and it's not going to stop unless we fucking stop it. This is why I am so fucking tired of the bullshit infighting, because while people are trying to "defend" the community against "ace invaders" and "transandrophobia truthers," this is what is happening. Again.
Your bullshit does not make anyone safer. The threat is not coming from inside, and it never has been. They don't want to be us, and they're not trying to become us, and they're not trying to "invade" our communities.
Scientists at UC Riverside have demonstrated a new, RNA-based vaccine strategy that is effective against any strain of a virus and can be used safely even by babies or the immunocompromised.
Every year, researchers try to predict the four influenza strains that are most likely to be prevalent during the upcoming flu season. And every year, people line up to get their updated vaccine, hoping the researchers formulated the shot correctly.
The same is true of COVID vaccines, which have been reformulated to target sub-variants of the most prevalent strains circulating in the U.S.
This new strategy would eliminate the need to create all these different shots, because it targets a part of the viral genome that is common to all strains of a virus. The vaccine, how it works, and a demonstration of its efficacy in mice is described in a paper published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
“What I want to emphasize about this vaccine strategy is that it is broad,” said UCR virologist and paper author Rong Hai. “It is broadly applicable to any number of viruses, broadly effective against any variant of a virus, and safe for a broad spectrum of people. This could be the universal vaccine that we have been looking for.”
Steve and Joe have a channel that's a mix of them testing their newest modifications to Steve's chair & their whole friend group exploring various parts of the old factory (& pranking the ever living shit out of each other). Their most popular videos are, ofc, the ones where Nana makes an appearance.
Naomi has a music review channel that they only actually upload to every 6 months or so, but they'll drop like 30 videos over the course of a week before going radio silent again.
Which of your OCs would have a YouTube channel and what would they do on it
GUMROAD IS BANNING NSFW CONTENT IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS
I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet, so I might as well.
They've updated their content policy to comply with payment processor Stripe and Paypal's censorhip. They gave 24 hours. On March 16th 2024, Gumroad TOS will no longer allows sales of any written or drawn nsfw content.
This is going to hurt for so many creators. Giving that little time leaves people's source of income wildly unstable, especially with such a huge overhaul of what content is allowed.
I hate this. I hate what censorship is turning the internet into. I hate that nsfw content creators keeo getting pushed to the fringes, that they need to digitally migrate so often, because nowhere can be trusted to allow their art for long.
I don't know what to do next, there isn't some sort of "here's what you can do to help!" People just deserve to know.
for the self-conscious beginner: No one makes great things until the world intimately knows their mediocrity. Don’t think of your writing as terrible; think of it as preparing to contribute something great.
for the self-conscious late bloomer: Look at old writing as how far you’ve come. You can’t get to where you are today without covering all that past ground. For that, be proud.
for the perfectionist: Think about how much you complain about things you love—the mistakes and retcons in all your favorite series—and how you still love them anyway. Give yourself that same space.
for the realist: There will be people who hate your story even if it’s considered a classic. But there will be people who love your story, even if it is strange and unpopular.
for the fanfic writer: Your work isn’t lesser for not following canon. When you write, you’ve created a new work on its own. It can be, but does not have to be, limited by the source material. Canon is not the end-all, be-all.
for the writer’s blocked: It doesn’t need to be perfect. Sometimes you have to move on and commit a few writing sins if it means you can create better things out of it.
for the lost: You started writing for a reason; remember that reason. It’s ok to move on. You are more than your writing. It will be here if you want to come back.
smth ive noticed is that fandoms seem. incapable of conceiving of, or writing about, male characters who were sexually abused by women/bottoms. like it seems like male victims of sa are only written about when their experiences can line up easily enough w traditional narratives around being forcibly penetrated by a man (& generally the characters are also small/thin/pale/submissive, traits associated w femininity). & like. 1 in 9 men are forced to penetrate in their lives. 1 in 4 gay men & 1 in 5 bi men are forced to penetrate in their lives. those stats are even higher for many moc. to be clear according to those stats lesbian women and gay men are equally as likely to experience penetrative rape/FTP rape respectively. and yet its practically nonexistent in media and i have barely ever seen it touched on in fanfic.
It's honestly crazy that discussion around testosterone HRT skews so much towards the beginning stages of it (to the point that you have dozens of guys thinking their transition is "failed" if they don't pass by like a year in lol) and what the initial changes of the first couple of months to years look like, like the classic laundry list of those early basic changes like bottom growth, voice drop, etc, when IMO literally none of that compares remotely to the depth and intensity of the long term total masculinization you start to experience like 3-5+ years in.
