💥PRIORITIZE MENTAL HEALTH!💥 Figured today would be good to talk about why your mental health is so important. And especially how in the fitness industry it is commonly over looked. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act as we cope with life. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life from childhood and adolescence through adulthood and aging. As there is no visible indicator if someone is dealing with a mental health issue it is up to everyone to be open about having such conversations as you could imagine the difficulty behind admiting something like that to your peers. 💫🧠5 Things YOU can do to help imporve your own mental health today!💫🧠 1. Value Yourself Treat yourself with kindness and avoid self-criticism. 2. Take Care of Your Body Diet, drinking enough water, avoid excessive drug use, exercise regularly and get enough sleep everyday. 3. Surround Yourself with Good People Nothing brings me down more than being surround by negative people. Do everything you can do structure your life to where you are constantly surround by people who uplift one another and are striving to stay positive. It rubs off more than you'd think. 4. Do Something Good for Someone Else Doing any act of kindness for no reason other than to help someone else is a selfless and rewarding act. I personally think there no better feeling knowing you truly helped someone and they really appreciated it. It's human nature to help our own. 5. Learn How to Better Cope with Stress Stress is something we all deal with everyday. And when it becomes overwhelming is when it can really effect out mental health. Doing things like separating yourself (taking a walk alone), practicing deep breathing while clearing your mind, indulging in humorous activities. In my experience laughter has been my #1 method of dealing with stress and has been proven to even help ease pain and strengthen your immune system.
