If it wasn’t for the fact that they keep reducing Uma’s character to make Mal seem better, I would’ve found this hilarious from the sound effects and graphics alone 😂😂😂
Like if it was Harry cheering with and Uma flag and heart eyes, that’s a ship I can get on
i’ve spent so much of my life investing time and thought into the Descendants Universe. I love it, even with its many faults, and I love the community it created on this dumpster fire of a website (said with love). I will forever cherish the descendants experience and watching it develop…
Do you ever just look back on a list of fanfiction WIP titles that you wrote down a while ago, thinking they were gonna be some banging ideas and then go:
WAT THE FRICK WERE THESE SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT?!!!!!
Ready, here we come. We always get our way. It’s a pirate’s life every single day. She’s the captain, I’m the first mate. Enemies seasick, can’t see straight. Call ‘em fish bait. Throw ‘em on a hook. Uma’s so hot they get burned if they look.
On Friday, the CW announced that the Cress Williams-led superhero drama’s upcoming fourth season will be its last. A reason for the show’s cancelation wasn’t given at the time of the announcement, but showrunner Salim Akil did release a statement thanking everyone who has watched and been involved with the show.
“When we first started the Black Lighting journey, I knew that Jefferson Pierce and his family of powerful Black Women would be a unique addition to the super hero genre. The love that Blerds and all comic book fans around the globe have shown this series over the past three seasons proved what we imagined, Black People Want To See Themselves in all their complexities,” said Akil in the statement. “Thank you to the phenomenal cast, writers and crew without whom none of this would’ve been possible. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve been able to do and the moments we’ve been able to create in bringing DC’s first African-American family of super heroes to life for the culture.”
News of Black Lightning’s end arrives eight days after the CW and Warner Bros. TV announced that Akil was developing a spin-off centered on Jordan Calloway’s Painkiller, which would be introduced by a backdoor pilot in season 4.
“I’m very grateful to Peter Roth, Warner Bros. TV, Mark Pedowitz, The CW Network and Greg Berlanti for their partnership and support of my vision at every step of this journey. While Season Four may be the end of one journey, I’m extremely excited to usher in a new chapter and continued collaboration with The CW as we tell the story of Painkiller,” Akil said.
Black Lightning returns Monday, Feb. 8 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
Huma moodboard - Living together/first day of fall (Huma's Happily Ever After 1/4)
Uma stepped back and looked at the end result. Then she stepped forward again and she slid a pumpkin slightly to the left. Now it was perfectly distanced from the other two and her composition was actually perfect.
The wind rose and she snuggled in her flannel.
"This is a new one."
She turned around and saw Harry walking towards her. He was dressed in an oddly put-together way that didn't really feel like him, yet at the same way it did. He had never worn a shirt tucked into his pants like he was now but it felt like something that would suit him.
"As is the way you're dressed" Uma replied when Harry got closer.
He took the sides of his jeans jacket and pulled them to show off his outfit, then made a twirl and filled the space between them, smacking a kiss on her lips.
"Evie gave me a makeover" he explained. "I tried to stop her, but obviously failed. I think I look really good, but I almost always look good."
She patted his arm and giggled. "You do" she agreed. Then she turned around to face their porch.
It was almost six months since they had decided to move in together in one of the new neighborhoods of the Isle of the Lost. The islanders were skeptical about the new buildings and Harry thought that if they saw Uma, the most respected figure of the Isle, moving there, it would convince them to do the same. And Uma really wanted to live with the love of her life.
"Evie got into you head, too?" Harry asked, pointing at their house.
Uma shrugged. "Honestly... Yes" she admitted. She had spent the morning redecorating their porch and front door. Now a bunch of pretty pumpkins were lined along the sides of the driveway and two vases with orange flowers stood on the sides of the door. "I've always liked fall and now that we have our own place I wanted to decorate. It's gonna be so cool once the leaves start falling" she said.
Harry hugged her from behind and somehow the wind stopped bothering Uma.
"In about a month we can carve some of those into jack-o'-lanterns" she added, pointing at the pumpkins. "And use the inside to spice up our coffees."
Harry kissed her cheek. "I like how happy and excited you are about this thing" he whispers.
She turned around, smiling at him. "It's cute, isn't it?"
He smiled, too. "Yes" he agrees. "And so are you."
Happy belated first day of fall! I hope you'll enjoy this little series! 🍂🧡
Ben going straight from a relationship with Mal to a relationship with Uma would be such an adjustment because he’s used to Mal going behind his back to do illegal stuff and Uma will just straight-up tell him, “I’m gonna go do some crimes now.” He never realized how much he valued honesty until he found himself in a relationship with someone who is honest.
Lmao imagine yelling at fans of color who are discussing fandom racism and how it dimishes their fandom experience that “fandom is supposed to be fun and you’re ruining it for the rest of us” the absolute Caucasity. Newsflash: fandom IS supposed to be fun and when y’all are racist and micro-or-macro-aggressing us, WE CAN’T ENJOY IT. Also imagine admitting that you can’t enjoy fandom if you can’t be racist asdfghjkl can’t relate.
Descendants is crazy and delightful, because “Harry loves it when Uma pulls his hair” and “Uma has said ‘Hook me!’ to Harry at least once” are both 100% canon statements.
