“Shall I assume you will not assault me?
Or do you wish to join the drones?”
There was no condescension in his tone; it sounded rather bored really. Considering that a drone as just impaled by three blades appearing from portals positioned beneath it, perhaps Dio was bored.
Though his attacks were mainly linear, that did not make them any weaker. Dio also was aware that it would be an intelligent idea to gain allies; his personality simply wasn’t suited for such a thing, regardless of what he wished.

(So, this muse finally decided to stop being stubborn and get involved with Part 2 of this event. Dio’s pretty powerful, but offensive oriented, his powers varying from demonic/dark magic to summoning various weapons to attack, and generally doesn’t care for others. But he does recognize the need to team up or work together. He’ll be focusing on defending himself from drones, and finding somewhere to rest. So, like this for a starter related to the current event! It will be uncapped.)

It was a familiar rush of power that woke him up, awareness coming back in droves. His Rake Hand flexed as he turned his attention to his surroundings, gaze slow and steady. Then his view took in the sky, and the disgusting form within it.
Tumblr media
“How troublesome.”
Really, it was a dispassionate comment, as if it was simply about to be cloudy all day instead of the impending danger of whatever resided in the cocoon. Dio supposed he should just count himself lucky to have his abilities back, however temporary and dangerous the situation that brought such a thing about may be.

Dio had seen the threats, acknowledged them, and moved on. Unless pulled into the situation, he would not do anything to get himself into trouble. He knew how liable humans were to fly off the handle-- to destroy those who seemed to be a threat. Just his very existence seemed to be one, but in the end, he was not going to make himself a bigger target by showing violence back.
It’d be a stupid move, one that could cost him more than he could risk.
So, when a human, a red-haired one with a spirit that almost reminded him of a certain woman whose strength was called that of a Savior asked if he partook in the same ideology as that of those ‘White Fangs’, he scoffed.
Tumblr media
“Make myself sink to their level?
To stupidly declare such a foolish thing?”
He did not think highly of this ‘White Fang’ group.
“If my sense was that far gone, I would not be standing here.
I am no fool, to think that if I wish such a thing, it would not be reflected onto myself.”
A pause, before a tilt of the head.
“In case it wasn’t obvious, no.
     I don’t feel that way.”
He saw them as weaker, yes. But he would not wish death upon them. Humans had not triggered that much wrath, and even if they had, it was towards those who were at fault of it, not those far from involved in the situation
@duskbrxnger
Even being new, Seles knew something was amiss in the city. How could she not have noticed the threats scrawled in red on the city walls? The White Fang is rising, it read. Death to the humans. Right underneath, more obscene threats had been hurled, this time written by a human degrading the non-humans. The exchange disgusted her and Seles looked away.
“What’s going on here? Do you feel that way about humans?”
Maybe it was unwise to demand answers from a stranger on the road, particularly as a girl who looked human speaking to a non-human. But Seles wanted to hear what the elf would say, or who she thought was an elf judging from his pointed ears. Her mother had elven blood and her father human’s, so to her there were no sides.

126. “Just what am I to you?”
Dio decided that the best move was to take quite some time to answer, looking straight at the nervous Holy Knight. What this human was to him? Well.
Tumblr media
“Should I give you a complete list?
Or should I spare your pride of such a hit?”
He didn’t actually care; he wasn’t even going to let his questions be answered.
“An annoyance for one.
That pitch of voice is truly headache inducing.
You’re about as agile as a slime.
It’s always a bother when I need to waste my time waiting for you.
          Should I go on?”
Didn’t humans always say it was good to be honest? Perhaps they were right; it certainly felt wonderful to be honest.

151. “I demand a rematch for that.”
Raising an eyebrow, he cast a look at the red-head who seemed offended? Maybe it was something else. He couldn’t tell, nor did he want to. He forcefully looked away, since there was no way he was going to dwell on the fact that this human looked too much like a swordswoman he knew.
Still, he decided to give a little response.
Tumblr media
“Come back later.
Perhaps by then, I’d have the ability to care.”

“I see.
I think it can be counted the first time that I’ve heard about beings from another world.”
Technically, Dio had heard about Haros and humans; both of which were simply from different dimensions. So, this different world reveal wasn’t too big. Simply more of a bother, if he were to define the feeling.
“I suppose it depends on the time period and the subject.”
Though not totally preferable, knowledge was something he didn’t have total pride in, but he understood its worth. So, exchanging it seemed like a useful move. Perhaps to make a contact as well-- Dio knew the value of contacts.
“We must be from different worlds, then. The Nasods are a… race, I suppose, of highly intelligent machines. They vanished for years, but have come back as of late.” He had to force himself not to say ‘unfortunately’.
Tumblr media
“Perhaps you can tell me more about your home? I’m rather curious, now.”

If one were to summarize Dio’s current attitude, it was neutral with a touch of amusement. That reply was not of his expectations, and certainly he could see the mistake once he saw the face. No structure was similar to that of the Frost; if anything, simply the hair shade was similar, nothing more.
Ah well. This mortal certainly matched Frost in terms of personality facets.
Tumblr media
“Perhaps I was blinded by your ego, since it seems like you value it in droves.
After all, your countenance is certainly more pleasant from a distance.”
Singular veer inclination toward the right indicates denial of whomever the entity proclaims. Family affiliations were abandoned, buried six foot deep; nevermore should the past be ruminated and chased after. Similar proverbs wrenched deep within your mind catering insanity, yet never abided.
Tumblr media
“Unfortunately, you’re sorely mistaken. I suppose your perception is progressively dulling day by day, or I’m quite the convincing deceiver, just by mere looks.” Brittle, nonchalant sarcasm spices your reply.

“Nasod?
     I haven’t heard of such a term.”
So, not technology from Kounat? Well then, such an interesting discovery.
“It was an old civilization.
Most mortals forgot about it, after they migrated to other areas.”
Dio had a passing thought that perhaps this one wasn’t from Aernas-- this Nasod technology seemed familiar, but not originated from there. The only other explanation was dwarves, but last he knew, they did not interact with other races willingly.
“Ah…?”
Tumblr media
He looked to his arm quietly, caught off guard. “Oh, no. It’s Nasod technology… I’ve never heard of ‘Kounat’, I don’t think.”

Well, Dio supposed that it was best that it was one of the newer members that had ‘joined’ him; he wasn’t too sure that he would be able to stand one of the older Chase members, who were likely more prone to feel separation. Then again, perhaps this one would also feel trouble from the separation from the Chase? Mortals were really soft, that was for sure.
Still, there was the benefit of having someone recognizable-- a landmark, or the like. Dio didn’t need the emotional back-up; oh no, he had no true care, other than the fact he was forcefully taken from his goal, and then also stopped from gaining the complete, unsealed force of his powers.
It wasn’t a total loss, perhaps. Drawn away from combat was far from a comfortable situation, but it would also allow him to see it from an outside perspective-- least, he wished it was that simple. Yet, he couldn’t dismiss the opportunity to get some sort of ‘base’ in terms of social. If he recalled, Lime was certainly one who was better at social interactions than someone like himself; he admitted to the fact.
Tumblr media
“There is.”
A brief recollection of the immortal and the Crimson River heir came to mind, yet he simply shook them off; no need to dwell on those who are not around.
He was tempted to say that those who challenged him due to his appearance and race would be shot down, torn apart-- yet that would only fuel the flames, and would possibly not even work, in his current weakened state.
“It is hard to say whether it is a blessing or a curse.
Though, if others came, I’d rather not have the misfortune of greeting them.”
Dio had no intention of being the equivalent of emotional support after all.
✦Confounded Familiarity
Because of Dio being someone she had acquainted with as a teammate, she had a good idea on how he would mostly hold onto a grumpy attitude of which she would assume would be developing once again from the new adaptions taking place - it was a bitter pill to swallow on the first day, surely. It wouldn’t be surprising that the asmodian wasn’t looking like the happiest person alive. Even before when they were part of the Grand Chase, he never really was anyways. Lime had only made an approach of standing a fair distance away from the male, she was still wary after all.
Even though it may have not have been a satisfying draw of luck, Lime decided to look on the ‘bright side’ of how this could have turned out. A better method of interacting more with her teammate? Working together could benefit, right? Said-ideas didn’t seem to work when she thought them out more thoroughly, he was known to be more of a - well, how could she describe this without being rude - self-centered person when it came to considering how he acted while working with others from her perspective.
Tumblr media
“Well, there’s worse candidates out there, right? In a place like this, we both might require as much support as we can get from others here. I heard that civilians aren’t very welcoming towards those who aren’t human or have extraordinary abilities as well..”
Lime was trying to get her point across to him first of all, in this city surviving doesn’t seem to be a cakewalk. Especially when she had overheard that the ‘NPCs’ were starting to become more offended at the presence of non-humans/supernatural beings and were causing riots and other dangerous acts that could obviously hurt others - just thinking about it made Lime’s blood boil with an impenetrable shame and anger. It did bring back her memories of how she was trained to have an immense distaste towards the demonic tribes from Elyos (most specifically, asmodians like Dio), and that it had changed because of some members of the search party she had joined that had demons fighting for a good cause just like her, for the good of mankind.
“I suppose it’s just you and me out of the group for now anyways?”

“That limb.
Is it a relic of Kounat?”
He couldn’t truly tell, but it certainly reminded him of the civilization. It was certainly well-cared for, if it had come from Kounat. Especially considering the fate of said civilization.

It was with an almost curious view that Dio had made his way around; a practical need to make himself familiar with this location. It simply wouldn’t do for him to be unfamiliar with it; a proud demon would always know where they are, and how to traverse it.
Still, he didn’t like that he was in such an unfamiliar location. Buildings he didn’t recognize surrounded, their designs definitely foreign to someone like him. So, when a voice he was almost sure was familiar said something, he paused, casting a glance around.
Upon spotting the supposed Holy Knight, he frowned. So, she was the one who he had to deal with? ...Well, it wasn’t the immortal, so he shouldn’t curse his luck just yet.
Tumblr media
“Unfortunately.
     Not of my own choice.
It seems like I have to suffer this place with you as well.”
He had entertained the idea of others being there, once he had arrived; however, he shot it down. There wasn’t a need to think about it at the moment, as figuring out how to keep himself in a stable position and with some sort of way to support himself was needed. He wasn’t going to let the few lessons Alfred taught him go to waste.

❝Mr.. Mr Dio? You’re stuck here too?❞
It was merely a call out to the one that she recognized in the current vicinity. Lime sounds and looks moderately surprised that the first person she would come across in the city was a familiar face. One that wasn’t relatively one that she talked to much during her adventures with the Grand Chase but had some fair social exchanges. She would’ve expected maybe a more friendlier better-known ally to come across her path however the knight needed as much support as she could get at the moment even if it was somebody like Dio.
Clutching a squeaky hammer better off of being used a toy than a weapon at her side, the Saint herself had only walked across a few streets before she had caught a glimpse of the asmodian just a few steps ahead. She wondered if there was any other members of the Chase here, or was it just the two of them for now? Either way, she would have to stay strong.
