Naveen Finding Out Ethan’s Not Single on TV
Naveen tuned into the local news right on time. He was excited to see his two favorite mentees give Edenbrook a glowing recommendation, and hoped their passion would help bring donations in.
He put down his journal and sipped his wine as he watched the pair rave about the Diagnostics Team.
The immense pride Naveen felt swelling in his chest could not be rivaled.
Ethan and MC looked just as fantastic together as they do when working.
Naveen was so grateful to have MC on the team. So much so, he lightly reveled in the notion that everything he and Ethan accomplished brought MC to them.
It wasn’t the first time Naveen noted the universe had a funny way of working things out.
Naveen couldn’t help but cackle when the interviewer asked Ethan if he was single.
The boy was difficult and for Naveen to get a straight answer about his protege’s romantic life was worse than pulling teeth.
Never could he have predicted Ethan’s next words;
“No, I’m not.”
His jaw happily dropped. Ethan Ramsey - Dr. Terminator, Mr. None of Your Business - had just told the entire nation he is in a committed relationship.
Unlike other’s, Naveen wouldn’t have to guess to the handsome doctor was seeing.
If Naveen wasn’t a renowned diagnostician, and if he didn’t know Ethan and MC as well as he did, he would have missed the small smiling tugging at MC’s lips.
Naveen was tempted to text Ethan a heartfelt “I knew it”, but thought better of goading. He’d save that for their next encounter.
He and Ethan made sure to meet up once a week for a drink or a meal. That’s where he’d give his inquisition and his praise.
Sadly, that never had a chance to happen. Because of The Incident.
Alan Finding Out Ethan’s Not Single on TV
Alan caught the interview on a replay the next day.
He sat on the couch with a cup of coffee and toast, watching his son talk about his greatest achievement.
It was very rare that Alan got to see his son at work, and even if this was just a sliver of formality, he couldn’t help but be prideful.
Raising Ethan was Alan’s life’s greatest achievement.
Alan rolled his eyes as the interviewer asked the intrusive question. He knew his son and getting any sort of answer from him was not going to happen.
He watched as Ethan’s eyes stared straight ahead, schooling his features from betraying him. He also noticed MC’s slight smirk.
Alan knew there was something between them from the moment MC helped him find Ethan in his hiding place. He clocked it as friendship; he could see just how personable MC is and in another lifetime Alan could see them becoming friends as well. Even Ethan Ramsey couldn’t resist the good nature of MC.
Then when he walked in on their dinner he noticed just how awkward the air became once he entered. The tension could have been cut with a knife. Alan doubted it was solely because of Ethan’s lingering feelings about his parents.
Alan paused the TV on the picture of the colleagues.
He observed the way they sat much closer to one another, leaning away from the senator and into each other. How their shoulders were almost touching. How Ethan kept his gaze ahead, most likely on a random spot far off set. How MC gave him a sly glance and the small smile creeping in.
For a few minutes, Alan felt that his son would be okay. Ethan had a new teacher, one who could finally help him to understand unconditional love.
Unlike Naveen, Alan wasn’t going to press the subject. He’d let his son tell him when he’s ready.
He knew Ethan well enough not to push or pry with such matters.
If it mattered, he’d let his father know.
And by the public admission he already knew MC mattered.
Alan continued catching up on what he missed in the world when breaking news coated the screen.
News of the assassination attempt from hours earlier had leaked.
Immediately, Alan called his son multiple times.
All he got in return was a simple text: I’m fine.
No, that wouldn’t do. Understandably, Alan knew this would have Ethan under immense stress. But his team was caught in the cross fire and there were causalities.
So, he waited for more news to break.
When MC was named as a victim, Alan grabbed his keys and swiftly made his way to Boston.

Can someone tell me when a year of residency starts in OH? Cause in Chapter 1 of book 2, Ethan asks MC to come outside with him since it’ll be winter before they know it. So it definitely had to be in fall, and I’m guessing September-October is fall in the US. And Chapter 12 marks the beginning of winter. That means all the chaos of the first half of the book took place in just four months??? And in Ethan’s premium scene in Chapter 12, if you haven’t romanced him before and he’s confessing his feelings for the first time, I remember reading somewhere that he’s been holding back for a year and a half. But he hasn’t known MC for more than a year and four months...
So if I’m correct with this confusing stuff, Chapters 1-11 took place in September-November, and Chapters 12-17 took place in December-February. Chapter 18 had the time jump. Chapter 19 took place in a span of a single day. And there’s another time jump in the finale. Two, to be exact. One before the reopening, and one before MC’s last day.
So... did PB go from March-June in the first time jump, and then another from (I guess) July to August for the construction, and then for about two weeks in August before MC’s last day?
What the hell even happened in book 2?😦

The prologue was written like that just to show a glimpse of the future of Evie and Ethan and give a vague idea as to how the rest of the series will progress! Also we have two new original characters in this, one of them is named Ian and we wanted to confirm that he does not have any relation with the QB Ian we basically used that name because @nikki-2406 likes it a little too much
