Running.
I'm about halfway through training for this thing. About 9 weeks left until the Fort Worth Cowtown Marathon. The last few weeks have been getting everything healed up after adjusting to multiple high volume weeks in a row. High volume is a loose term, I was doing maybe 40 or so. I felt good for a few weeks but it just started adding up. Knees, then hamstring, then calf, and AT(Achilles tendon). I could barely get below an 8minute pace without my AT/calf aching. I had started to do this thing with my step off where I would bend my big toe and intentionally push off with that, basically sprinting form wise for 10+ miles. So lots of ice and stretching and taking it a little bit easier, and relearning my stride. I had a 15 miles last weekend, and it was a test to see how the AT was holding up. It was the most successful long run so far. A small twinge at the end but overall pretty good. This week has been good, some good Christmas runs, and a 16 with mostly marathon pace on Sunday. Looking forward to it.
