* The army consisted of two types of units: dragon-led mixed commands of monsters and dracoknights, and elite dragon-only commands assigned solely to the Fire-Star Wardens for emergency use.

Foot tapping the ground aggressively, the Concordian girl was slow on getting this thing to work again and to be honest, he could sense that she is entertained by this whole situation. of course, she is. rain for her is something of a fixture in her life, unlike the taller male.Â
groaning once the girl fixed the ceiling, he shivered and nodded to her. clicking his tongue, he huffed as he rubbed his hands togetherâugh all soggy he hates this feeling. taking off his gloves, his right mechanical hand was visible now. tucking that hand into his pocket, his left hand raised to his mouth as he breathed into it for warmth.
âTowel would be fine.â
For this trip, he did not pack any extra clothes because this meeting was supposed to take only one or two days maximum. Mental note: ALWAYS bring a spare change of clothes to this god damn cursed place.Â
She holds the fabric and stands still, eyes resting on the now hidden METAL and then changing to look at his eyes. She was a soldier as well, a good one at that, details didnât pass her. âHere, take thisâ, the towel is offered and no word of his body spoken despite how clear she made it she noticed. If he wanted to mention it he would do so, in the end Tsubame had no gain in approaching the subject herself.
âYou will be all right. You are leaving soon, are you not? A little water should be a nice change from your usual environmentâ, the words were said as if understanding of his situation, but the undertone was nothing but TEASING. It was fun to see him struggling in this environment, a kind of self-satisfying payback for the first days she spent freezing in Milites.

certainly. if everyone acted on their own accord the hierarchy of order will be surely broken. he knows that. he knows it more than anyone. to be on a constant watch from the magic bureau. the zero cadets did not have much of a choice but to follow orders.
to be honest, her tone was kind of refreshing in midst of this hectic situation. it is reassuring to find an adult (he assumes?) who still thinks rational despite this whole âbeing enemiesâ thing. concordian huhâŚhe heard that their queen is admirable. i guess it shows on her people. interesting to meet someone new. what can he learn from her?    Â
âindeed, ma`am.â
earthly optics chose their next target, a couple of milites soldiers passing by them. he could never have been standing here, a concordia by his side and milites soldiers walking by, if it werenât for this cease-fire agreement. the world is indeed s t r a n g e.
âit would be better if this ended right nowââŚ.i mean no disrespect for the fallen ones.â
he never shies off from what he believed in, and meaningless fight like this was what he hated the most. true he fought for his mother at first, and his country, secondly, but it never justifies the excessive in killing.Â
would it truly end if he wished for it ⌠.?Â
âI wonder if it is not to keep fighting that is disrespectful. No living being in Orience must truly desire war, resolving conflicts with words does less harm on not only the people but the nature as wellâ, and that was how she grew up. They were peaceful people, Concordians, taking after their queenâs diplomatic ways. They lived alongside dragons after all, being taught since childhood of the mighty creature and of how to co-exist. When the talks was over Tsubameâd like to teach them that.
And yet reality wasnât quite that simple â Tsubame was aware. Solving some things with nothing but words required a delicacy few possessed. âWorry not, Phoenix, Queen Andoria is doing her utmost to turn this ceasefire into a most after-sought peace and I am confident all sides are willing to negotiate. The fact that the Fabula Pact was invoked and accepted is proof enough.â

He had looked tense. An aura of uneasiness that was hard to ignore once youâve noticed it. It made sense really, for the boy this was still enemy territory and while Tsubame didnât know the reason why he was there she had quickly picked up the rumor of how the children had arrived before the official convoy. The soldiers werenât any better, a mixture of DESPISE and CONCERN tainting the air and keeping the mood sour.
Then the child had confirmed her suspicions; keeping his tongue in check but voicing his disbelief all the same. RED DEMONS she had heard the older men calling the Rubrumites with red capes and Tsubame pondered if it would have contained a meaning similar to what a mother called her misbehaving child if things had been different.
âYoung Phoenix, if soldierâs like us acted according to our own choices the line of command would be broken, would it not?â, he had said âweâ she noted, and smoothly continued with the similar language with a gentle smile, âIf a life can be spared, then so shall it be, for unnecessary bloodshed has loss but no gain. To make the choice to show mercy is a courageous and honorable one. Yet, as tragic as reality is, that choice is not always available, surely you must have experienced the same during your enlistmentâ, tales of the vermilion class of Rubrum had reached even her ears, and while she didnât have an exact measurement of their power it was clear they were a critical part of Rubrumâs defense ( even now she could feel the strength RADIATING from him ).

"Be at ease, Tiger, being in a hurry will not do you any goodâ, her voice was light as if she was enjoying his ( self-caused ) predicament, a little water never killed anyone, did it? He came from a country of snow, it was still water, just a different form. Melting snow had a similar effect as rain in making the person wet, albeit slower. Besides, there was something HOMELY about rain.
A minute of tinkering ( if Tsubame was taking longer than necessary on purpose she wouldnât confess ) and the rain was gone again, âWould you like a towel? I am afraid a spare change of clothes in your size will be difficult to find.â
