Shadow Dragon and New Mystery have *a* lizard person who is worshipped as a god but the actual, alive dragons live in solitude away from mankind specifically because mankind was a bitch and started slaughtering and oppressing them. Naga herself doesn't seem to have much interest in telling mankind how to act.
Gaiden/SoV does have its two dragon gods take a much larger role in the plot. So I'll give you that one, though I don't think it's a secret that they're dragons and there's plenty of dragons who exist entirely as generic enemies doing fuckall with the government.
Genealogy and Thracia have thirteen dragon gods but only two have an active interest in influencing mankind. They collectively run a single kingdom and a cult. I don't think it's well known that they're dragons.
Dragons hold no influence in the Elibe games or Sacred Stones.
Dragons are Seclusionist in the Tellius games. The king is on a first name basis with the god of that game but he does fuck all with it, which is the point of his character.
Most, if not all, of the countries in Awakening seem to follow one of two dragon gods in Awakening, including a highly regarded dragon priestess, so point for Awakening. But again, very well known that they're dragons.
Fates I'll give you because of Anankos.
This post was definitely about Three Houses, because that's the game that's the most true.
Dragons have huge influence in Engage, but again, not a secret.
It's a little concerning that there actually is a secret cabal of lizard people running the world in most of the games

I was going to make CYL predictions but uh, turns out the reveal was today! Guess that's why everyone was talking about it in the tag... So, CYL reactions instead!
Conceptually Corrin feels like another rehash of her Legendary alt, but she's probably going to be a crazy powerful tank. I think Corrin takes the award for "Character I had no intent of pulling but will anyway because of her kit" this year. Also the field effects is interesting, guess that'll be the new mechanic for a bit.
Soren's just meh. Unless he has some crazy high stats I don't see myself pulling him. His unique mechanic looks like it'll need the right team to be built around, otherwise it's just too niche to work right. And he's basically just his tier 3 promotion, which makes sense given that's what happened to the 3H characters, though I expect some disappointment by Soren fans.
Gullveig looks cool, looks more powerful than Soren, and also has a field effect move. She's gonna be my free pick for sure.
Robin didn't get his Levin Sword, but I honestly don't mind. His outfit is kind of adorable. It has this kind of renaissance faire look to it. Don't remember a thing about his kit other than he can "warp" to an ally, which could be useful but still a bit niche compared to like, Corrin.
Overall I'll probably take Gullveig as my free unit and pull for Robin and Corrin.

It's really interesting looking back at the pre-release of Fire Emblem Fates, where rumors circulated about the lesbian character getting "corrected", or Treehouse censoring it somehow.
Because I think in hindsight we need to admit that Soliel was never really a lesbian, even as far as the Japanese script was concerned. "She's just at that age where she gets confused".
That sounds horrible but it's explicitly what the game was typecasting her character as, archetype wise.

Hot take, but I hope they drop Avatar units from now on. I haven’t minded them until now, but you can’t customize their appearance anymore, they always go by their default name in side games, and now voice acting has to tiptoe around their name in all the cutscenes… The only reason to keep them around is that it allows you, the player, to marry the character you want, as the gender of your choosing, and I know that’s a very popular aspect but… eh.

Stupid Engage reminding me why Ike and Soren are such good characters. I've been hating on them for the last decade because IkexSoren shippers have historically been annoying if not downright toxic (looking at everyone who complained that Ike and Soren weren't the duo unit on their child banner, when every duo child unit has been siblings). Finally beat Engage. I was going to type up my thoughts but idk I'm kind of late to the party on that one I think everyone's tired of hearing other people's dumb opinions by now. I will say that everyone who said the story sucks either didn't make it to Chapter 20 or just hates fun sorry I DO make the rules and it was a good story. Sure the best parts were all shoved into the end but it was a pretty wild last few chapters I feel like the Family Guy dead pose.
