A Long Overdue Update
Hey,
Just an update on what has been going on with Double Crossed Films.
We directed a music video for JSA for their new single 'Paper Planes'. The video has been picked up by NME TV and is currently on rotation on their Radar playlist.
And we've been busy working on a followup to Girl In Motion. Two scripts have been written, one a slightly higher budget short called 'Deceit', and another a single location film called 'On The Way Home'. Both films are being developed simultaneously, with scripts being sent to actors at the moment.
As part of this process, we had the talented Kim Hargreaves draw our storyboards for 'Deceit'. The boards are fantastic and will really help us in putting the film together.
Lastly, Phil was recently interviewed by New Empress Magazine. You can check that out in the latest issue (#3) which is available to buy here, and can also be found at The BFI Southbank, Prince Charles Cinema and Wardour News Soho.

Successful first screening
Many thanks to all of those who attended the debut screening of 'Girl In Motion' this weekend.
Attendance was great, considering it was Fathers Day, as was the feedback we received.
We had a few reviewers in attendence who enjoyed the film very much. Those reviews should be be online later in the week, so I'll post the links to them as they come in.
We will be meeting with our film festival distributor Katie McCullough over the coming weeks to start tackling the festival plan.
For the rest of you who are yet to see the film, we will be adding all of the dates the film is screening as part of festivals, as well as other showings to the dates page on the website.
Thanks again,
P

As of yesterday the final picture elements were delivered.
A big thanks to our colourist Garry Maddison at Prime Focus (pictured) for his efforts. Ben and I had loads of fun working on the film with Garry over the last month on-and-off.
We're now just waiting on the final mix which is due to be completed in the next couple of weeks.
After that it's just the small matter of marrying the sound and picture and preparing it in all its various forms for exhibition; starting with a private screening at the end of the month.
More soon...

'Girl In Motion Update' - 26/04/2011
A few more weeks down the road and 'Girl in Motion' is moving further towards completion.
VFX are completely finished and in the cut. Blake Neale did a great job of bringing the necessary effects to life in an interesting way which I won't spoil.
Conor Cagney has almost finished the opening title and credits. I'm especially excited about the opening title as it looks quite bold at the head of the film.
I recently visited Prime Focus London, where the film was ingested ready to be graded this coming weekend. It's a superb facility and I'm looking forward to seeing the film on the huge projection screens there to see how the Canon DSLR images hold up.
Until then the focus is very much on the sound post-production. I'm headed into De Lane Lea tomorrow evening to listen to the current mix and give notes, as well as on Thursday when our lead actress Amy De Bhrun returns with Richie Jenkins to do a spot of ADR on a particular scene. Once that new dialogue is cut into the film we'll be very close to being able to book a sound stage to start the final mix.
Following that all efforts will be turned towards promoting the film and getting it ready to send to festivals.
Matt Lawson, (the producer), and I have a meeting booked in with a freelance festival distributor in early May. So if all goes well with that we should have someone working with us who has done it all before and can get the most from 'Girl In Motion' on the festival circuit.
Thanks to the efforts of web designer Pete Williams, who has a small cameo in the film, 'Girl In Motion' now has a home on the internet.
www.girlinmotionfilm.com
The blog will be updated on there, and you will also be able to follow when all the screenings are happening in the future.
If you need a website made yourself, then I would recommend getting in touch with Pete. Check out his site Code and Pixels
Hopefully I should be able to do a few updates and tweets from the sound sessions and grade this week. Thanks again to everyone who has watched the teaser so far. The responses have been really positive. Be sure to point your friends towards our facbook group so that they can check it out too.

'Girl In Motion' Update 11/04/2011
Visual Effects, handled by the very skilled Blake Neale, are nearly there which means that we will be ready to grade in a few weekends time.
Once the grade is completed the film requires the opening titles and credits to be created; a job which is being done by motion designer Conor Cagney (www.cagney.tv).
Sound post-production is going well, with the soundtrack being built and laid down. We're currently aiming to do the final mixing session in early May.
The teaser is finished and should go live in the next few weeks alongside the website (www.girlinmotionfilm.com). It's a brief glimpse of the film and doesn't give much away.
And in other news it looks like the film has been selected for its first festival based on a successful preview screening. The festival is based in Sweden and is taking place later this summer.
The first official screening of the film has been booked for late May with more to follow soon after.
Now to the small matter of finishing the film!

'Girl In Motion' update 30/03/2011
Had a first look at some of the VFX yesterday. They are shaping up very nicely.
Have also seen some great poster designs and artwork for the film by our designer Stuart Ross. He's really talented and has a unique style. Check out his work at http://www.stulala.com/
Redelivering the film to audio today so the guys there can properly make a start on the sound tracklay.
Screening the film for Hong Kong in the 60s tonight, whose music we use in the film.
Once those jobs are done we can relax for a bit whilst post-production continues. Might even have some time to carry on working on the followups.
Oh and finally, work has started on a teaser for 'girl in motion', so we hope to give you a taste of that soon.
