Doreuldakda project has been invited to participate in the 12th Festival of High Temperatures that is to be held in Wroclaw, Poland from the 21st to the 23rd of June, 2019. On this special occasion, the DD collective presents Doreuldakda 108 that takes a step further from the previous editions of the project. During the festival, 328 ceramic stones are waiting to be polished by visitors to the festival. The stones scattered on the floor in Galeria Neon are produced by students majoring ceramics at Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design, following specific guidelines given by the collective. Moreover, Doreuldakda 108 invites a Polish sound artist Maciek Bączyk also known as _N_A__G___R____A_ to join the opening performance as a special guest. He will interpret the act of polishing a ceramic stone to create an acoustic scenery by improvisatory interactions with the sound elements generated by the audience. For three days, festival visitors are welcomed to actively engage themselves in the process of discovering their minds and translating them through individual aesthetic experience.

Some story about Doreul-dakda was featured in the very first issue of Garland Magazine (December 2015) which has focused on craft activities in Korea. They selected a picture of Doreul-dakda for their cover! In the interview, Yujin talks about the collectivity and public reception of Doreul-dakda project as well as the other projects that the written hands. has curated in relation with humane and social values of craft activities.

This poetic work required multiple participants (the team) and as such represents a direction in contemporary ceramics that reflects much of the history of the medium. Traditional firing methods, the division of labour and the way in which historical domestic ceramics could be seen as a single entity dispersed amongst many sites and users could be the metaphorical parallel of the work. There are many themes common to both.
The work is also a labour in the sense of a repetitive act, taking time (embedding time in the object), and making the surface tactile and seductive to handling and use.
The artists use elemental materials like sand & water which reflect the natural world, and the way in which over time, river pebbles become polished.
And yet the work is highly contemporary performance, a reverie on- but not a re-enactment of- the past. It allows us to visit a quiet place, to experience in a vicarious way the state of ‘flow,’ and to meditate on our actions and our place in the greater scheme of things.
