Why is there a dot floating over Sonic’s earring
It's actually a reference to Tails.
He's normally wearing a blue circle shirt- so I thought while designing Super Sonic that he'd want a little token about his kid.

So, since Sonic was being judged by the emeralds in front of Tails, I assume that Tails couldn't hear a thing the Emeralds said but if he could hear what Sonic said in response to them... Did he hear that Sonic would accept to sacrifice himself to protect them? Or worse, that he "considered" the possibility of leaving him with the rest of his friends if he passed away??
I dunno, that may explain lost of why Tails was so bad when he came back to reality...
I tried to do this weird thing where if the background has a shadow- it's all in Sonics head. No words are actually verbally being spoken, but everything Sonic does is real.
He didn't actually say any of those things out loud, but Tails saw him crawling on the floor barely being able to handle the pain and mutely yell at something the entire time.
Sonic isn't a fan of secrets- but he's his own biggest hypocrite when it comes to his kid.

February 29- March 2 2024
The first time Sonic went Super in Road Trip wasn't exactly as stunning to Tails as other au's and stories.
Tails is like maybe 5 here (I'm not actually that organized on the timeline for this au yet, I'm getting there though, things are getting in order.) and he wasn't forced to grow up and be a hero in this au. So he's a bit more childish than canon Tails because he doesn't feel as pressured to mature and grow up fast. Plus, he genuinely thinks Sonic is going to die and this is the last time he see's him, so tears are bound to come down.

This isn't Sonic putting himself first-#-but him trying to comfort Tails because even if it's cheesy- Tails will only feel okay if Sonic is okay.#Apparently it calms children down if they listen to their parents heartbeat (melts my heart when I remember that) so Sonic put-#-Tails close to him not only so he could hear that Sonic is alive- but also to try calming him down a little more.#Small thing I started incorporating way too late- Sonic will call Tails Big Guy if the kit is smaller than him and-#-Little Guy if the kit is larger than him.#Sonic changed his pattern color to be blue like Tails' eyes after he points out that they are both yellow (it's not colored here-#- but you probably remember that Super Sonic has golden fur.)#Sonic is constantly rubbing a thumb on Tails' hand as a comforting gesture.#That's my ramble- I know it's just pretty bare bone stuff that anyone reading might get but I freaking love explaining stuff (I gotta stop)

Yeah, going Super for the first time will always be a painful experience if I can write it.
The Cyan Chaos Emerald is friendly with Sonic and Tails because that was the Chaos Emerald they had powering the Tornado. They're sentient, but their awareness increases when the other emeralds are around.
Maybe I'll do a separate post explaining the individual chaos emeralds in this au- they're more than just stupid mcguffin rocks.

(it's 3 am- that's why the doodles are crap)
I had this idea kinda pop into my head and I can't sleep until I ramble about it for a little bit.
The idea kinda is to spark a chain between a bunch of au's. Like a collab thing but like- you don't really need to talk with anyone else to get it set up really. (wait, that's just an event) Maybe this would be an event, yeah.
It'd maybe be a story of Nine a bit after Sonic Prime trying to find a universe fit for him to live peacefully in. Maybe even find the Sonic that's right for him (he probably never will). So he'd bounce from Sonic AU to Sonic AU, learning a bit about it but ultimately leaving it as he views it isn't fit for him.
You could throw your headcanons in for Nine too- claim that it's the unknown energy of the universes that has changed his memory and appearance. But he knows his goal: find a universe that's just right, but it seems like it'll never come to be. It frustrates him, but he secretly doesn't mind that much because he actually likes to travel the different universes and see what's strange about it.
Maybe I could make it an actual event, even with a hashtag and such, but that's only if enough people might be interested in it (and when it isn't 3 am brain talking)

Sometimes Tails has to find Sonic while he's napping. It could be for any reason: Eggman's attacking, he made a new invention, their friends came over to hang out, or a new adventure is opening up for them to embark.
But if it isn't time sensitive or important enough at the moment, Tails will sometimes catch some zzz's with his brother too. That or tackle him into a surprise sibling fight.

They can actually cook. Though Tails isn't allowed to touch the stove yet or mess with sharp items (no matter how much he tells Sonic he has a steadier hand than the blue blur). But he enjoys kneading the dough so he doesn't mind that much.
