Ha, I had the outline saved in a dump file with other, completely unrelated, project and fandom stuff. Crisis averted .

I have the outline of this relatively short fic (10-12 chapters, I don't remember and it's on my phone, I haven't touched it in weeks (ha, months) ready to go, I even have not one, but two edits for it because the person I am dedicating it to didn't like the first one, but the words won't come and all I have is a fancy prologue. 😭

Brishti-Subinoy headcanon 28/?

If Brishti and Subinoy are in a tense environment, do they ever step in and diffuse the tension? What methods do they apply?

Subinoy, when it comes to situations where he wants to diffuse the tension ― inadvertently making these scenarios where Bilu or Brishti are involved and aggravated, does so by first establishing physical contact. Touch. A hand on their shoulder, holding their hands, entwining their fingers, squeezing (very lightly) the back of their neck, pressing his forehead against theirs, and so on. His first concern is to assure them that he is there, present, and willing to help, even if he is the one antagonizing them. After that, the second step can go two ways ― either he falls silent and lets that speak for them, or he whispers assurances with more courage than what is in him, and even if it is a terrible situation and they are facing death, he manages to calm them down, enough so they can help themselves.

If other people are losing their heads or engaging in a cold war, exchanging death glares and making the air crackle with bad mad energy, Subinoy keeps to himself and watches the drama unfold.

Brishti is not good at these situations ― and she knows it. It is extremely rare, close to impossible, for her to step in and diffuse the tension. Best case scenario, there will be complete silence on her part as she stands in a corner, pretending to blend into the wall. If worst comes to worst, she will be, once again, hiding in the shadows, growing more desperate by the minute and hoping someone else steps in and saves the day. However, if it is between Bilu and Subinoy, she will be taking an active interest ― if it is Bilu's fault, she will try to convince Subinoy, and if it is his fault, she will amp up the tension like a supportive mother. If the situation is about the two of them, her and Subinoy, then obviously it will get a lot worse before she runs out of steam and leaves ― later, once she is calm, she will take the necessary measures, apologize if it fits, and fix the problem.
