Tips For Combining Different styles In Your Dining Room
Deciding on the right dining table & matching dining furniture can be tricky if you are starting from scratch. Before you start looking at furniture & dining furniture for your dining click here to learn more space you will need to make a decision on a few of the more important aspects of your design, especially regarding the overall style you are aiming for.
Getting a dining table, dining chairs & even a sideboard in the same materials, style & colour is how most people choose their dining room furniture, but there is a new trend, especially in contemporary dining furniture to combine different kinds of pieces.
Why not mix up colours, styles & textures? So, for example, with glass dining tables that are with ultra modern chrome legs consider some padded, upholstered chairs with steel or chrome legs in a more classic shape, like the Bonaldo Victoria chair. Getting dining chairs that are designed in contemporary materials in traditional-with-a-twist designs look really great with contemporary or traditional dining tables & can provide an interesting contrast to both.
Even if you do buy a dining table & chairs in the same style you could always add another strikingly unique element into the room, perhaps an antique Chinese cabinet, or a French style display cabinet. Bring the two styles together with an antique wall mirror or silver candelabra on the table & you have a beautifully blended dining room, with just the right balance of new & old, plus a little more personality than a dining room with all matching dining furniture.
Although combining new furniture with antique furniture can look great it can also be difficult to pull off well. You will need to be completely realistic about the room the furniture is going in first. If you have a Victorian home with high ceilings & period features like coving & original sash windows then you have a lot more scope.
